Story
Werra is my name. It is Mexican Spanish slang for light-skinned. It is also the name of a river in Germany. Take your pick! I am a Rat Terrier / Chihuahua and came into care with my sister, Peluda which means hairy in Spanish. She has much more hair than I do. We were born Dec. 25, 2024 so we are about 1 year 9 months old. I weigh about 11 #. Our owner’s health was getting worse and she has 4 other dogs so she couldn’t keep the two of us. We have been together with her since we were babies and don’t really understand why she left us. Peluda gets anxious and cries when she can’t see me so I am hoping we can be adopted together. I am house trained although sometimes I have an accident in the house. Although we were used to running freely in the house with the other dogs, we do OK in a crate also. We had been left alone without a person for shopping trips and errands until our owner went to the hospital. Then we were alone in the house for a very long time with someone just stopping by to feed us. It was a very confusing time for us. Now we don’t understand why we are here in foster care. She said we like to play fetch with small tennis balls but we haven’t been up to that lately. I know come, stay & off. I ride well in a car and get along with other dogs. There were 6 of us of all sizes. I don’t like to have my nails trimmed and I don’t care to be around toddlers or small children. I can be timid and shy sometimes until I get used to you. I often roll over on my back for belly rubs when you go to pick me up. I like being held and cuddled. Are you going to be my next family?
