Story
Meet Opal—the lighter-brindle beauty of our precious brindle sister duo!
Opal and her sister, Olive, are eight-month-old brindle babies who were abandoned at a shelter and left waiting for someone to rescue them. Olive is the darker of the two, while Opal wears the lighter brindle coat. Much like her sister, Opal is petite, weighing only 29.8 pounds—but what she lacks in size, she makes up for with an enormous amount of love!
Opal and Olive are nearly identical in personality: curious, affectionate, playful, and completely devoted to people. They enjoy the company of other dogs and get along wonderfully with every dog here on the property, but if given a choice, they will choose their humans every single time. These girls don’t simply enjoy human attention—they crave it!
Opal has slightly more energy than her sister, but one-on-one, she is an absolute doll. She doesn’t meet a stranger and happily welcomes anyone willing to love on her. As you can see in her videos, Opal believes every new person has arrived specifically to swoon over her—and honestly, who could blame her?
Opal is clean in her crate, doing amazingly well on a leash, and is incredibly eager to learn. She has been around my children and does wonderfully with them. There is not a mean bone in this sweet girl’s body!
Sometimes Opal becomes so excited to see her humans that her entire body turns into one big uncontrollable wiggle. Because of that happy, energetic enthusiasm, we would use caution placing her with infants or very small toddlers whom she could accidentally jump on or knock over. It would never be out of aggression—she simply has so much love and excitement inside her that it takes her a moment to settle herself!
Opal is spayed and up-to-date on all vaccines and preventions. She is ready for a family who will adore her as deeply as she will adore them. This beautiful girl has already experienced what it feels like to be left behind. Now she deserves to learn what it means to be chosen forever.
If you’re looking for a petite, gorgeous, joyful, people-loving companion who will greet you with her whole wiggly body, Opal may be your perfect girl. Her $500 adoption fee covers medical care up to adoption to include vaccines, spay, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY. She is currently fosterd in La.
