Story
Ryder is a sweet guy with a slow‑to‑trust heart and a fast‑to‑attach personality. Once you’re “his person,” you officially have a Velcro dog. Sharing his human? Hard pass. Playing? Absolutely. He loves to play—sometimes a little too enthusiastically—and can intimidate dogs his size or smaller simply by being a caffeinated toddler in a dog suit. We call him “Squirrel” because he never stops moving. His tail goes a mile a minute, and he wiggles like he’s powered by sunshine. But settle him in your lap and he instantly transforms into a warm, snoring cinnamon roll. Potty training is still a work in progress, but he wears a belly band like a pro. Leash skills are… developing. He’s also learning the dog door and crate one small victory at a time. If you’re interested in a wiggly little shadow who lives for lap time (and prefers not to share it), Ryder is your guy. He’ll thrive with confident dog friends who won’t steal his human—or his spotlight. Ryder has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Ryder, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt).
