LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY. Peabody is a 2-year-old Rat Terrier mix (we think). He was pulled into our rescue from an over-crowded, rural, KY shelter because he was not tolerating the environment well and was shut down. He was terrified when first arriving at his fosters home. It took time…but not much. We have video evidence that he is a Velcro mix. He likes dogs about his size, but gets passive-aggressive with bigger dogs. Meaning he runs his mouth. He would have no problem with another, playful dog or being the one-and-only. He likes to watch TV on the couch, beside you, with his eyes closed. He will be the big spoon every night and knows how to fit perfectly into the small of your back. Peabody will likely need the expected 3 days to decompress in a new environment. But once he has stopped fretting, he’ll be melting like butter in your lap. We think Peabody needs to find that doesn’t require transport, so applications must be local to TN. I need to be adopted in Crossville, Tennessee. FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. 👑 Meet Princess — Her Happily Ever After Is Finally Her Turn! 👑 Princess may be a little girl, but she has already been through a lot. This sweet 3-year-old Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix was dumped in a neighborhood and was fortunate enough to be found by a kind woman who took her in. Princess had her three babies on that wonderful lady's deck, and after coming into rescue, she devoted herself completely to raising them. Now her puppies are growing up and finding families of their own—and Princess's job as a mom is finally finished. ❤️ At just 8 pounds, Princess is a petite little girl with a sweet personality. She's quiet, rarely barks, and loves people. She gets along well with the dogs in her foster home and is crate trained. Her potty training is a little rusty. After spending an unknown amount of time living outside before rescue, Princess is still learning that inside is home. When she's not in her crate, she will use potty pads, so her forever family will need to be patient while she gets those skills polished up. 🥰 Princess does have a little Rat Terrier instinct that we need to respect. She will chase the resident cat when she sees one. Thankfully, she's never caught the cat, but because of this, a home without cats is strongly recommended. If there is a cat in the home, they would need to be kept safely separated. Princess is up to date on her vaccines, heartworm negative, and scheduled for her spay surgery on September 8th. 🩷 After spending her early years being someone's discarded dog and then giving everything she had to her puppies, Princess is ready for something she's never had before—a family that's hers forever. She doesn't need a palace. She doesn't need a fancy life. She just needs someone who will look at this tiny 8-pound girl and say: “You're home, Princess. You're not being left behind again.” 👑❤️ Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
