Story
Meet Maizy! Hello there, my name is Maizy! You may remember me as being "the last save of 2023". I needed a place to go quickly, and the good people of Albert's found an open spot for me! Since I'm a golden oldie, they sure didn't want to see me end up at a shelter. I'm about 20 pounds, and though I'm little, I'm not too much of a lap dog. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy being around my people, but I likely won't cuddle with you. I'm really good with other dogs, and even cats. I could do well with older, respectful kiddos, but they must understand that I won't want to be held. I'm working super hard with my potty training, and I'm doing well with going on potty pads, but man, it's cold outside right now, so please don't hold anything against me if I don't exactly find going outside desirable! My favorite pastime is curling up in a nice cozy dog bed to take a nap in the sunshine! Added blankets would be a huge bonus! I'm not too fond of not seeing my humans and will voice my displeasure with it, so apartment living isn't ideal for me. I'm a little hard of hearing, so you might have to yell to get my attention, or if you know I can see you, you could wave me to come to you if you'd like. I'm a super sweet gal, but I'm a bit timid at first. I've recently had a big life change aferall. I'm hoping I get to find a loving family I can be a part of soon, so I can say I have a home of my own for the rest of my days! Do you have a little spot for a lady like myself in your home? *Maizy is being fostered in the Port Washington area. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair). Story
Meet Bennett, a sweet and spunky little pup who was rescued from a difficult hoarding situation involving 21 animals. Despite a rough start and a battle with parvovirus, Bennett is now healthy and thriving. He is slightly underweight but full of life and playfulness. Bennett's resilience and loving nature are sure to melt your heart. We estimate that Bennett will remain small, not exceeding 10lbs as an adult. He deserves a wonderful home where he can continue to grow and flourish. Bennett is tagged for rescue and urgently needs a FOSTER or ADOPTER before June 7, 2024. He arrives to Wisconsin on 6/8/2024. Don't miss the chance to welcome this adorable, spirited and resilient pup into your life! FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping. For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.

Story
Theodore Emiliano Bear aka Ted E. Bear, is a 3 year old Spanish Ratonero terrier. He was born and raised on a farm in a small town in Iowa. He was loved by his original owner, who sadly passed away and left Bear orphaned and homeless. He is energetic, gentle, and curious. Ted sings in the Bass/Baritone region. He enjoys country music, cuddles, attention from humans, pup cups, tennis balls, and liver treats. He is house trained, but his listening skills while out walking could use some work. Ideally, I think his perfect people would be very active and fit. Since Bear is very active and fit. He loves playing. He LOVES long walks, but gets extremely excited when he sees another dog. He could use some gentle training from an experienced dog lover. He just received his vaccinations, deworming, and a clean bill of health from his new doctor.
