Story
Meet Maizy! Hello there, my name is Maizy! You may remember me as being "the last save of 2023". I needed a place to go quickly, and the good people of Albert's found an open spot for me! Since I'm a golden oldie, they sure didn't want to see me end up at a shelter. I'm about 20 pounds, and though I'm little, I'm not too much of a lap dog. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy being around my people, but I likely won't cuddle with you. I'm really good with other dogs, and even cats. I could do well with older, respectful kiddos, but they must understand that I won't want to be held. I'm working super hard with my potty training, and I'm doing well with going on potty pads, but man, it's cold outside right now, so please don't hold anything against me if I don't exactly find going outside desirable! My favorite pastime is curling up in a nice cozy dog bed to take a nap in the sunshine! Added blankets would be a huge bonus! I'm not too fond of not seeing my humans and will voice my displeasure with it, so apartment living isn't ideal for me. I'm a little hard of hearing, so you might have to yell to get my attention, or if you know I can see you, you could wave me to come to you if you'd like. I'm a super sweet gal, but I'm a bit timid at first. I've recently had a big life change aferall. I'm hoping I get to find a loving family I can be a part of soon, so I can say I have a home of my own for the rest of my days! Do you have a little spot for a lady like myself in your home? *Maizy is being fostered in the Port Washington area. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair). Story
Meet Mira! Howdy, my name is Mira which means “admirable” and fits me quite well. I'm a golden oldie who still has a little spunk left in me. At just 17 pounds, I'm small enough to be picked up when needed, but I get around just fine on my own. I get along well with other dogs, and I don't mind cats. I love humans and could live with small humans who are respectful of me. Foster mom calls me “honeybun” sometimes because I’m as sweet as can be! I'm a good girl and go potty outside when I'm kept on a regular schedule. I really enjoy going for car rides, and I'll climb right in my kennel and lay down for the trip. I actually enjoy relaxing in my kennel. I'm silly and social and will go with you to neighborhood outings or to local brewery for dinner. I'll happily take walks with you to explore the neighborhood and new places. Walks help to keep me healthy, which is good since I take some medications to keep my little heart happy. I'll gladly show my humans how much they mean to me with snuggles on the couch and at bedtime I'll go straight to my kennel and snooze away until it's time to get up in the morning. I'm hoping I find my forever family soon so we have as many days to spend with each other as we can! Maybe you are the missing piece to my happily ever after? *Mira is being fostered in Madison, WI. Story
Jellie came in with her friend Bellie when their owner passed away. Though a little shy when first meeting people, she is blossoming quite well. She gets along with other dogs but would like a home with older children. Jellie can be a runner/door dasher and will need to be worked with that in the home. Jellie and Bella are able to find homes separately. Ask about her today!

Name: NellieBreed: Rat Terrier MixDOB: 1/2/23Good with kids: YESGood with dogs: YESGood with cats: YESFoster location: Hampshire, ILAdoption fee: $325Fun Bio: Poor Willie and Nellie were found after being dumped and abandoned in someone's yard.....on Christmas Day! What the heck?! We aren't sure if they are related (maybe father daughter? Grandfather?) but Willie is very attached to Nellie. Both Willie and Nellie are great dogs who, despite being abandoned, love life and being around people. They will entertain you for hours! Nellie is just about a year old ready to find a home that will love her Willie forever where they'll never be abandoned again. Can it be with you? If interested in a pet from us please fill out the adoption application that is located on our website.  We process applications in the order in which they are received.  We will likely not respond to interest emails regarding puppies and/or kittens, we get so many "interest" emails that we simply do not have the time to respond to each one.  We always recommend crate training, positive reinforcement training, exercise, playtime, and a regular schedule for potty breaks when bringing a new dog/puppy into your home. Adjustment takes time for both you and your new family member, so remember to be patient and enjoy this new and exciting time!Included in the adoption fee are age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm testing, deworming, spay or neuter surgery, and microchip. ##1914509##
