Story
Meet Toby! Toby is approximately 1 1/2 years old and is a Terrier mix. He was surrendered by his family because they did not have time for him. Unfortunately, Toby had a rough start during his first few days in the shelter environment. From what we understand, he didn't spend much time away from his family, whom he was very attached to, so this was likely a traumatizing experience for him right off the bat. We were told he hadn't been leashed before, so that can sometimes add to their fear response. Because of how hard it was for him to adjust, we took our time with him and simply let him come around when he was ready. He's such a sweet little guy and we didn't want to make him feel rushed. Toby is still nervous in the shelter environment, but getting more settled a little every day. We have a few employees whom he absolutely adores and will cuddle right into their laps! He also loves to play fetch! We were told he absolutely loves other dogs, but in this setting he's more stressed with their presence, so we're hoping to get him into a foster home with other dogs to see if he can adjust better that way. Fear reactions in dogs are common and need to be met with patience and understanding, so even though he might blossom as soon as he gets out of the shelter, we are hoping to find him a family who is OK with it if it doesn't happen quickly. He likes to have his space to retreat to, so we think a kennel will benefit him in his new environment. He does well in his kennel at the shelter and keeps it clean! Toby was very attached to the toddler in his previous home and we're told he absolutely loves kids. In his last home, he had lots of fun, spunky energy, so we can't wait for him to get back into that happy dog mode! Let's face it, the shelter just isn't for everyone. If you are someone who appreciates the terrier spunk, and the loyalty of a dog like Toby, we know he will be so happy once he finds a family of his own. We are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been approved. Please fill out the following app and email it back to monroecountydogshelter@gmail.com https://www.co.monroe.wi.us/home/showpublisheddocument/35564 Toby is neutered and now current on all vaccines and heartworm testing. His adoption fee is $240.

Story
Meet Teller! Teller came to CCHS with her 4 siblings towards the end of October from a local farm. This sweet Heeler mix is about 13 weeks old and weighs roughly 9.5lbs currently. Teller is a little adventurer in need of an exploring buddy! She is a lively girl and would benefit from an active furever home! While we are not entirely certain what her exact breed makeup is, we can tell you she is 100% Pathfinder! With any puppy, training and socialization are incredibly important to the success of the pup. Apply for Teller today! You can go to cchs-petshelter.org/applying-to-adopt or bit.ly/CCHSadopt. Thank you!

Story
Senior lady Molleigh has been part of the New Rattitude family for many years, and her story is one of love, change, and quiet strength. She first came to the rescue in 2020 with her daughter when their family made the difficult decision to surrender them. Both girls found loving homes, and at age 11, Molleigh settled into a wonderful life with two devoted parents, a spacious home filled with sunlight, and plenty of windows for critter-watching—plus uninterrupted snuggle time. Five years later, through no fault of her own, Molleigh finds herself looking for a home. Her adopters, now facing age- and health-related challenges, could no longer provide the care she needs. Now 16 years-old, Molleigh is once again in foster care—comfortingly, with the same foster family who lovingly cared for her back in 2020. Molleigh is a 19 lb. lady who enjoys the simple pleasures in life: long naps in a cozy dog bed, leisurely walks, and tasty treats. She’s a gentle soul who does well with cats and calm dogs. While she spent much of her life around a child, at this stage she would be happiest in a peaceful home without active young children. Stairs are hard for Molleigh, and since she doesn’t like being carried, a single-level home is important for her comfort and safety. She was house-trained in the past, but now uses potty pads—either because she’s forgotten or simply can’t hold it as well as she once did. After so much transition, Molleigh deserves a quiet, loving home where she can relax, feel secure, and be cherished for the rest of her life. If you have room in your heart and home for a gentle senior who asks for very little, Molleigh would love to meet you. For more photos of Molleigh, visit her online photo album at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/molleigh   If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. You get a 5 day trial with me in your home. Put in your application soon!*** Please help me get out! I am currently in a place where there are lots of unwanted dogs and not all of us here get the chance I might have to leave! But in order to help me out of here to catch the ride to WI on January 9th and arrive on January 10th, I need *both* a sponsor, and a WI foster home *or* a WI adopter! I have a place for now, but I can't stay here forever and I am worried. The rescue has put a hold on me to save my spot on the trip up north to WI, but now they need YOUR help to get me there - don't wait!!!   Updated: 12/6/2025 Dog Name: Jessie Sex: Female Estimated Breed: Rat Terrier Mix Approximate Age: 1 year Approximate Weight: 7 lbs Spay/Neuter Status: Spayed Description: Jessie was pulled from a high kill Texas shelter after being surrendered at no fault of her own and found herself at risk of euthanasia. This tiny little princess is so sweet and submissive, she deserves to be carried around and so spoiled in a safe home that is full of love! She is just so gentle will be your little shadow at home. Jessie is crate trained, great with other dogs, cats, and respectful kids because she is just a little pup!  Adoption Fee: $450We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time, we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs once they're at least 6 months old. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are between 6 to 8 months old. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. January 7, 2026, 1:48 am

Story
?? Meet Johnny: The Long-Legged Lover Boy (…as long as you’re a lady!) ??Hi everyone! My name is Johnny, and if you’ve ever wondered what happens when a Rat Terrier and an Italian Greyhound team up to create a tiny supermodel… well, wonder no more. It’s me. I’m the result. Legs for days. Cuteness for miles. Personality for years.I’m a small, adorable guy with super long legs, a big heart, and a very clear preference: I adore women. I mean, really adore women. I am all about the girl squad. Men? Umm… I respectfully decline their existence. But once I know you (ladies), I am pure love. Couch cuddler. Lap sitter. Snuggle specialist. Heart melter. You name it.I’ve been hanging out in a foster home this past week, and I’ve been absolutely amazing (their words, not mine…but I agree).? Only two little accidents? Great with the other dogs? Great with the cat? Great at being ridiculously cuteBasically, I’m a tiny gentleman with a couple long legs, a lot of charm, and a heart ready for my forever home.If you’d like to meet me (or one of my dog friends), please visit Northwoodshumanesociety.org, head to the Adoptable Animals page, scroll down, and fill out the Dog Adoption Form. Once that’s in, a Canine Team Member will be in touch to help set up a meet-and-greet.I’ll be here practicing my best “love-at-first-sight” pose. ?????

Story
Meet Tina! She is a 1 year old rat terrier/heeler mix rescued with her mom, sister and younger siblings after being dumped in a bad area of town. She is very submissive and a little shy at first but wants she warms up she loves belly rubs! She get's that from her mom! She is great with other dogs of all sizes but prefers medium and small dogs. The bigger dogs make her a little nervous. She is working on leash walking, potty training and crate training. She is currently 23 lbs with long legs. She is just a sweet girl looking for love and a place to lounge around! Tammy is available for adoption with Saving Grace Dog Rescue of San Antonio. The adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport. An adoption application and adoption contract are all required. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations appropriate for their age, microchipped, and wormed for internal and external parasites. If you would like more information please email us at sgdrsa@outlook.com. An adoption application can be completed online at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SGDR/Dog Please note that visual breed identification in rescue dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only GUESSING at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
