Story
Hey my name is Rusty! I came here to steal hearts, not shoes. I am a recovering klepto though I like to think of it as having my own special collection. However, I am taking direction well to turning over a new leaf, because I'm very smart. I am 3 years old and I have a lot of energy and love to give. I’m a bit of a follower and I love making new friends. I was found tied to a tree with minimal shelter in this hot Texas heat. A nice lady took me in and found me a temporary home. Now I’m looking for something more permanent. An ideal home for me would be someone who wants to play and continue playing. I am a busy boy! I am kennel and house trained. I love dogs and other people. I probably wouldn’t do well with small children or cats because I get too excited. I enjoy fetch, walks, car rides and I love cuddling! Story
Pupdate:  100% house and crate trained and a champion walker on leash. Also a very good car rider and a gentle and playful human and canine companion. We aren't sure how he will do with cats, but he gets along with everyone and everything else! If you are looking for a gentle giant (who just happens to be gorgeous), look no further. Feel free to contact foster mom at 281.797.6280 with any questions or to schedule a meeting with this cutie!       Pupdate: Romeo has made tremendous progress in our short time together! He has recovered from neuter surgery and we have been learning to walk on leash. He is getting very close to being 100% housetrained - he is displaying the classic circling pattern now to alert us of a full bladder, and seeing his sister sleep uncrated at night has him visibly puzzled. There is intelligence in the sweet boy, and luckily he is very eager to please and so it won't be long until he "gets" it and we trust him to sleep uncrated, too! With the ears and the long-legged lopey gait, there ain't nothing like having a hound dog who only cry barks when he is playing <3 my contact details are below if you'd like more information about this sweet young galoot!     This sweet guy was found on the mean streets of Conroe at the end of May, hanging closely with a female puppy we've named Juliet. In these few short weeks, Romeo has learned how to go into and out of a human house, how to accept pets, kisses and treats, and he has made huge strides in housetraining. He is 100% crate trained, and I can trust him to potty on a washable puppy pad when he needs to go and I'm not in the room with him. Romeo is still shy, but he is growing in confidence and will continue to blossom into a lovely family companion, especially after a couple of puppy training classes. Calm and gentle, he interacts well with all of the dogs in his foster's household. He is past the puppy biting stage and he takes correction very well. Romeo will likely be a large boy; right now he is all legs and ears <3 If you would like to meet this gentle beauty, or if you have any questions about him, feel free to contact Kristi at 281.797.6280, and thank you for wanting to add a rescue baby to your family!September 26, 2023, 1:37 am
