Story
Meet Odie – Just 9 Months Old, Full of Love, and Running Out of Time!Odie is a tender-hearted hound mix who’s quietly fading behind shelter walls. At just 9 months old, he’s already feeling the crushing weight of kennel stress…and now, his life is hanging in the balance. ?? The constant noise and stress are taking a toll — and now he’s at risk of being euthanized. ...but we got to see the real Odie recently — outside of the loud, stressful kennel — and oh, how he has begun to blossom. With love, tail wags, and playful zoomies, Odie is gentle, goofy, and he gets along beautifully with other dogs, calm or playful. He just needs a chance. He spent the day with a loving family from Pup Love And More as his time out of the shelter, and here’s what we learned: At first, he was shy — the kennel is his “safe zone,” and he would retreat there when overwhelmed, but once he dried off from his bath and got some one-on-one time…the tail wags started. The kisses came next. He lit up into the goofy, sweet, playful puppy he was meant to be. When the kids came into the room (ages 15, 13, and 11), he got nervous again, hiding behind his foster and retreating to his kennel. He just wanted to stay close to his person.Even during his photo session, he stuck close — unsure, but trusting. Then came movie time. And Odie? He jumped right into her lap, snuggled in, and didn’t move. Curled up on her chest, stretched across her belly, head resting on her shoulder…Odie became a total snuggle bug. Once you earn his trust, you are his whole world. All he wants is to feel safe and loved. He’s still a pup — he loves squeaky toys, tug-of-war ropes, and during play. But with love, patience, and a gentle hand, he’ll learn. He could even live with a calm cat friend — he barely blinked at the one he met. Odie doesn’t need much — just a little time, a calm home, and someone who promises to protect him from all the scary, new things. Once he feels safe, his love is unmatched. Odie`s running out of time. Please, foster, adopt, or share to help this precious boy find his second chance. He showed us who he really is — now he just needs someone to see him.
