While a little shy at first, he warms up quickly and settles into a relaxed, low-key companion. Goose Full Tilt & Tail Wags has two very important sides- the boy who wants to run, chase a ball, and join every adventure and the lover boy who curls into a little ball beside you at bedtime. He brings whole-hearted enthusiasm to both. Gorgeous, outgoing, and wonderfully expressive, Goose is looking for someone whose idea of a good day includes getting outside, doing things together, and coming home with a happy, tired dog. He loves cuddling, sleeps in hilariously creative positions, and wants to be properly greeted when you walk by. Walk past without saying hello, and he may file a verbal complaint in the form of a hound coded bark. Goose likes people, welcomes new experiences with confidence and curiosity, and sees very little reason to keep his feelings to himself. We cannot confirm breed but we won't deny there are signs. This boy is estimated to be 1 year old and as a young hound mix he has places to go and energy to spend. Running, chasing his ball, exploring, and playing with other dogs are all high on his list. So are car rides! Open a vehicle door, and Goose is ready to volunteer as your passenger. His age and breed are our best guesses, but his enthusiasm for an active life is well established. Goose will shine with someone who enjoys giving a dog both exercise and something to think about. Regular outings, sniffing adventures, training games, and opportunities to run in a securely enclosed space would make a wonderful routine for him. He also needs someone willing to help him practice the quieter skills, including settling down after the fun, a natural element of raising a dog into adulthood. His cuddly side is very real and is only enhanced by a day of fun. He enjoys canine company and gets right to the business of playing. Running and chasing are particular favorites, and his best match would be a playful dog over 25 pounds who can comfortably enjoy his exuberance. He has shared toys nicely and waits politely for his turn at treats. Goose currently lives with a cat, but his foster acknowledges that he does try hard to get the cat to play with him so he may not be the best fit for every type of cat. Goose also comes with a classic hound soundtrack. He chats, announces his feelings, and occasionally delivers a dramatic squeal before bouncing right back into the fun. A home with room to run and neighbors who will appreciate a new neighbor with personality would suit him well. Apartment living would need a thoughtful conversation about his daily activity, enrichment, and vocal nature. His foster has had success with crate time and he is house trained. Once he arrives at his new home, while he learns new household routines, supervised freedom, appropriate chew outlets, and a consistent schedule will help him succeed.
