Story
Sinbad is a handsome, approximately 9-year-old mix of Rhodesian Ridgeback and Mountain Cur, weighing about 75 pounds Sinbad has spent his entire life on a horse farm surrounded by animals and family. He has lived with horses, cats, chickens, and another dog with whom he gets along well. He’s comfortable around horses, although he does enjoy trying to chase the chickens and cats if given the opportunity.   Sinbad loves being outside. Playing fetch and Frisbee are some of his favorite activities, and he always enjoys going for walks. As he’s gotten older, he’s become even more affectionate. A true definition of a lap dog, he loves hard. He absolutely loves attention from his people and will happily roll onto his back for belly rubs and cuddles. He especially enjoys relaxing in bed with the adults in the house and simply being close to his family.   Sinbad has grown up with four children and, for many years, showed incredible patience as they played with him, hugged him, and climbed all over him. As he’s entered his senior years, however, he prefers a quieter lifestyle and has less tolerance for the constant activity that comes with a busy household of young children.   One thing that’s important to know about Sinbad is that he has always displayed some resource-guarding tendencies with high-value items like his balls, toys, and bones. Once he’s finished playing fetch and takes his ball to settle down, he prefers to be left alone with it. Because of this, he would do best with owners who understand canine body language and are willing to simply give him his space when he has something he considers valuable.   His present family has grown over the years, and with children now ages 2, 4, 9, and 11, his home has become much busier than it was when Sinbad was younger. While he still craves attention and affection, he no longer enjoys the constant hustle and bustle. Now,  he deserves a quieter home where he can be the center of someone’s world again.   Sinbad would thrive in an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy children who understand and respect his boundaries. He would make a wonderful companion for a single person, couple, or retired family looking for a loyal, loving dog to share their days with. He has so much love to give and simply wants a peaceful home where he can enjoy walks, snuggles, belly rubs, and all the attention he deserves.   (posted 4/5/26, RH)  Adoption Fee:  $100.00  July 12, 2026, 4:11 pm

Story
Meet Oscar! Oscar is a gorgeous 5-year-old Lab/Rhodesian mix with a zest for life and a heart full of love. He originally came to the rescue as a young puppy with his siblings, was adopted, and later returned when life circumstances changed—through it all, Oscar has remained the sweetest boy. This big, handsome guy weighs about 80 lbs and has a unique look to his lower jaw. Oscar returned to the rescue with osteomyelitis in his mandible, possibly from an old injury. This condition is an infection of the bone and was successfully treated with antibiotics. While the infection is gone, it left behind some extra bone growth on his lower jaw. This does not cause him pain, and he does not need medication or ongoing treatment—it’s simply a cosmetic quirk that makes him extra special. Oscar is thriving now and is such a joy to work with. He is good with female dogs, cats, and kids, and best of all—he is HOUSEBROKEN! He has been neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and heartworm tested negative. His adoption fee is $250. Oscar is ready to finally find the forever home he deserves. Could that be you?July 12, 2026, 10:32 pm

Story
Snuggle. Bunny. Yes, we know Luna is in fact a dog, but we just consider that a bonus! You won't need to file her teeth and good-mannered Luna is much less likely to chew your electrical cords (tho she can hop a fence).  She is much easier to take on walks, tho she thinks cardio is over-rated. This low-key girl much prefers your lap. Thoughtful to a fault, she knows there is no room in that lap for other critters, so asks to be your only snuggle bunny. Story
Stella may be a little in her shell when you first meet, but she is readily won over with food and soon shows you her fun side! She is a playful girl who has some energy to burn, but she'll help you out - she likes to take the leash and walk herself! This smarty is treat-motivated and would be fun to teach tricks. She shows signs of being housetrained and has been friendly with males dogs (only). Stella would do best with a solid fence, as she likes to protect her property - but only behind a fence for extra courage! Vincent is a happy boy with a winning smile. He easily shares his joy with all he meets - he has a lot to spare! He enjoys playing with other dogs and learning new things to win treats. He is equally happy getting pets and scratches at your side or chasing a ball in the yard. Let Vincent bring smiles into your life!
