Story
Meet Buddy! A spirited two-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback/Carolina Dog mix currently living in Indio, CA, whose essence is a radiant blend of affection and golden sunshine wrapped in a 55-pound frame of well-mannered joy. Buddy is the kind of companion who seems straight out of a feel-good movie—loyal, playful, and always ready to bring a smile to your face! With a naturally calm and friendly disposition, he’s the perfect balance of charm and discipline. He may not have had formal obedience training, but you’d never guess it with the way he proudly follows commands like "sit," "stay," "fetch," and even "go to your bed." His sharp mind and eagerness to please make him a dream for anyone looking for a well-mannered buddy—yes, pun intended! At about 55 pounds of affectionate energy, Buddy is medium-sized with a heart that’s anything but. He gets along famously with children, other dogs, and even cats! He’s the kind of dog who will greet strangers with a friendly wag and a sparkle in his eye, then gently curl up beside you for a cozy nap after a stroll around the neighborhood. This golden boy loves his walks (preferably when it’s not too hot) and can never resist a good game with his favorite toys—ropes and bouncy balls being at the top of the list. He handles alone time like a champ, but when you return, get ready for the happiest reunion dance you’ve ever seen! One of his cutest quirks? Buddy loves to watch TV—yes, really! Whether it's an animal show or a lively cartoon, he’ll sit by your side like the best binge-watching pal ever. Fully house-trained, neutered, vaccinated, and in great health, Buddy is all set to bring joy to a new loving home that has time, affection, and the stability to truly cherish him. He doesn’t ask for much—just love, companionship, and a comfy spot on the couch (preferably near the TV!). Ready to meet the sweet soul who might just be your new best friend? Contact adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more about bringing Buddy home—could he be the golden thread your family’s been missing?

Story
Meet our sweet, beautiful girl Arya! She is approximately 7 years old and 68 lbs of pure love! Arya is super sweet, very affectionate, mellow, smart, and funny. She is the goodest girl who will do anything for a yummy treat! She absolutely loves her belly rubs and can often be found on her back, legs stretched out, waiting for her pets! She needs a little bit of time to warm up to a new environment or person, but once she gets comfortable, she will shower you with so much affection every day, everywhere. Arya was rescued from the Carson Animal Shelter (LA county kill shelter) where she was put on the euthanasia list after 3 months at the shelter. She has been in a foster home since leaving the shelter in late December. Here’s how to describe this sweet pea: - Walks great on leash (loves going on walks) - Non-reactive to other dogs on walks - Easy to train as she’s super food motivated (food will make her do anything ?) - Smart and picks up new tricks/toys quickly - Crate and house trained - Loves to spend time with her human. She’ll be happy just sitting next to you - Very good in the car - Very good with brushing teeth, cleaning ears, shower - Loves belly rubs and pets - Loves squeaky toys - Good with other calm large dogs - She takes a daily anti-inflammatory for her minor arthritis but has no problem going on walks and living a happy life! :) As Arya needs a little bit of time to warm up, an adults-only home is recommended. Adopt our bundle of joy! Arya had a very tough life so far and is so ready to embrace her forever family. Apply to adopt Arya on pacificpupsrescue.com!

Story
Looking for an outgoing pup companion with a mellow vibe, very affectionate and the sweetest smile? My name is Chumi, and I’m your girl! I have medium energy level and love exploring outdoors with lots of walks, even light runs and sunbathing. I am excellent in social settings because I have a laid-back attitude, walk well on leash, and enjoy meeting new people, of all ages, and friendly dogs. I am housebroken, perfectly behaved at home where my favorite spot will be cuddling next to you where I can cover you in kisses and you rub my belly! I have had obedience training and even done some agility, so am attentive to directions. I was a stray until I got injured when a car hit me. A woman took me in to help me recover from minor hip injury but after 5 years my person is now dealing with health issues of her own and can no longer provide the life she believes I deserve. She chose my happiness over her own, and hopes I have the chance to find good people to give me a loving home where I will be adored. I am seeking a family who enjoys a regular routine that includes lots of time outside. I would do well as the recipient of all your attention, or with another dog with a similar temperament. I know I am a mature girl but am a gem who has so much to give you! I know we will create wonderful memories together [Chumi is 8 years old and weighs 60 lbs.] If you'd like to meet Chumi, please contact Teresa Mendoza: (323) 683-7215 or teresamend@yahoo.com Note: This is a courtesy posting for our fellow rescuer, which means that even though this animal does not belong to our group, we are here to help those who need to find a home for their animals. Story
Eric is ready for his light to LA upon adoption. Background: Eric is one of the 21 brave dogs rescued from a dog meat farm in Anseong, Korea, this past spring. Since his rescue, he has been living with other dogs at our partner boarding house, waiting for his perfect match and forever home. Personality and Socialization: Eric’s sweet nature is why he earned his name – he’s soft, gentle, and has a mellow disposition. With a medium energy level, Eric is friendly and sociable, and he absolutely loves spending time with people. Snuggling and sharing affection are his favorite activities, making him a big, lovable cuddle bug. Eric gets along well with other dogs, making him a great fit as either a second dog or the only pet. His main wish is to have his human nearby—he’ll be happy either way! Behaviours: Eric is a quick learner. He’s attentive and eager to please, making him a joy to train. He handles car rides, baths, and nail clipping well – even if he’s not a fan, he’s patient and allows his humans to care for him. Eric enjoys going for walks, although he can be cautious in new places and may need some time to settle in. He hasn’t had experience with cats or young children yet. Health and Diet: Eric is neutered, microchipped, and fully up-to-date on his vaccinations. He takes monthly preventatives for both internal and external parasites and enjoys a diet of kibble twice a day, with no known allergies so far. This healthy boy is ready and eager to find his forever home. Ideal Home: Eric’s ideal family would include someone who works from home or is retired, as he thrives on human companionship. A home where he can be the fur baby, receiving all the love and attention, he would be so happy. Eric is the kind of dog who will brighten each day with his loyalty, affection, and joyful presence. If you’re looking for a devoted, affectionate companion to fill your home with warmth and love, Eric is the dog for you. Adopt Eric and welcome a sweet, snuggly friend into your life! Story
Sir Oliver ( Ollie) was rescued from the Shelter, he had been surrendered for being "too big" and was scheduled for euthanasia at 10 months. We were lucky enough to have this brought to our attention at our Vet Hospital where we try to help pets in need. Ollie is a fun loving guy who adores people and likes to just sit at your feet and get a head massage or catch a good movie, he really is a love. He has stayed with a foster for the last 6 months, but unfortunately their situation has changed and he has come back to the hospital to stay, which is hard on him and not ideal, although we are desperate to keep from the shelter. We are seeking either a foster or adopter for Ollie as he deserves the best and all the love in the world! Ollie is good with kids and small dogs, we are not sure about larger dogs or cats. He is still working on his leash work, but knows his commands, sit, stay, go slow, give paw. Loves people, great for someone who works from home, crate trained too!

Story
Churchill was born on April 7, 2023. He is serious, not overly affectionate, but when he chooses to show love, it’s genuine and meaningful. He needs to build trust with someone before he’s comfortable being petted. He’s house-trained, enjoys his toys, and responds well to treats, making him very trainable. He enjoys going for walks, and riding in the car especially with his head out the window. He also has a habit of digging from time to time, especially if he’s left alone outdoors for a long periods. Churchill thrives in a calm environment where he can feel secure. He’s not overly cuddly, but he does like to be near his humans and be part of the family in his own steady, quiet way.

Story
Blue & Churchill were raised together and have always been close. They got along beautifully. But recently, they had their first serious fight. One of them was injured and needed stitches, and ever since, I’ve had to keep them separated. After their fight, my main concern is their safety. I’m constantly worried about what might happen if I ever made a mistake or they somehow crossed paths. As hard as it is, I’ve decided to rehome one of them so they can each have a peaceful and loving life. Blue is outgoing, affectionate, and very curious. He loves to cuddle, give kisses, and follow his person around just to see what they’re doing. He’s curious, gentle, and prefers being indoors, though he also enjoys walks and car rides with his head out the window. Blue is the kind of dog who wants to be part of everything you’re doing.
