Story
We rescued him at 18 months old. He was severly malnourished. He is about 8 years old now. My wife recently had an incident putting her in a wheelchair and she is unable to help care for him. I am a Disabled Vet, and due to my injuries, I severly struggle caring for him as well. We have recently had to crate him. He hates it so much that his nerves have created hot spots, where he scratches and eats at his hair causing hair loss. He is a very social animal and hates being locked up. He makes friends fast and loves everyone. He is great with children, cats, and other dogs. He rarely barks and is trained to go outside, even without a leash. Although he is well behaved if a leash is required. He knows all basic commands, ie. sit, stay, wait, down, etc.

Meet Ruby! Ruby is a sweet, playful, affectionate, active, and a high jumping dog! She is 1 year old (bday is 12/24/24). We got her almost a year ago from our local animal shelter. The reason we are needing to re-home Ruby is because she needs a taller fence (standard fence height is not tall enough- she needs a 5 foot fence) as she has been jumping out of our fence. She always comes back, but it has gotten us into some trouble with the neighbors. Sadly we have had to keep Ruby tied up in the backyard to keep her from escaping. Ruby is very friendly and submissive and has never shown any aggression. She gets a long great with our kids ages 4 up to 14. She has taken on a submissive role to our other dog that we got first, and I believe she could do this with other dogs as well. Even though she is sweet and gets along with everybody, she is high energy. She does jump on people, and she needs someone to play with her and/or walk her. Ruby sleeps in her crate at night and is housetrained.

He is both house-trained and crate-trained—in fact, his crate is his happy place! When left alone, he prefers the security of his kennel, and even when his humans are home, he often chooses to relax there with the door open. Meet Oscar! Oscar is a gorgeous 5-year-old Lab/Rhodesian mix with a zest for life and a heart full of love. He originally came to the rescue as a young puppy with his siblings, was adopted, and later returned when life circumstances changed—through it all, Oscar has remained the sweetest boy. This big, handsome guy weighs about 80 lbs and has a unique look to his lower jaw. Oscar returned to the rescue with osteomyelitis in his mandible, possibly from an old injury. This condition is an infection of the bone and was successfully treated with antibiotics. While the infection is gone, it left behind some extra bone growth on his lower jaw. This does not cause him pain, and he does not need medication or ongoing treatment—it’s simply a cosmetic quirk that makes him extra special. Oscar is thriving now and is such a joy to work with. He is good with female dogs, cats, and kids, and best of all—he is HOUSEBROKEN! He has been neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and heartworm tested negative. His adoption fee is $250.
