Story
Meet Bucket! Bucket is a lovable 1-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who has made an incredible transformation during his time at the shelter! This sweet boy needed a little time to decompress and discover that the world isn`t such a scary place, and now he`s ready to find a patient family who will help him continue growing into the wonderful adult dog he`s meant to be. When Bucket first arrived, he was shy and lacking confidence. He would sometimes hide under tables and shake when he felt overwhelmed. With time, patience, and support from staff, he has blossomed into a much more confident pup! These days, he`s happy to get out and explore, stays close to his favorite people, and no longer feels the need to hide. Bucket has a fun puppy personality and plenty of energy, but one of his best qualities is his ability to settle himself. After getting his zoomies out, he can often be found quietly sitting at his handler`s feet, perfectly content to hang out with his person. Bucket also enjoys other dogs! When introduced to a confident canine companion, he came completely out of his shell and had a wonderful time playing. He does have a more forward, rough-and-tumble puppy play style, so a dog-to-dog introduction is required if there`s another dog in the home to make sure everyone is a good match. Like any young dog, Bucket is still learning his manners. He`s working on things like keeping his paws on the floor and not jumping up when he`s excited or happy. He`ll thrive with an adopter who is patient, consistent, and committed to ongoing training, structure, exercise, and positive reinforcement. Because of his exuberant puppy manners, a home without young children is recommended.Bucket is a big-hearted puppy who just needs someone willing to show him the ropes of home life. He`s sweet, playful, affectionate, and ready to keep learning. If you`re looking for a lovable adventure buddy who can also settle down for some quality time at your feet, Bucket may be the perfect match!

Story
If you are hoping to adopt an active boy, look no further than Chance! Chance thinks he is a lap dog but he is an amazing running companion. On walks, Chance greets all of our neighbors with enthusiasm and tail wags, shouts and murmurs of enthusiasm! He is house trained, a great sleeper through the night, and doesn't chew on furniture! He has been very calm, patient and loving with children as well! Chance would do well in a single-pet household that can give him lots of affection, exercise and a steady routine. He seems to be territorial about sharing his indoor space with other dogs, even though he is super friendly when out on walks. He has great endurance for walking and running. He is laughably terrible at playing fetch but still loves to run around and play. Chance is quick to learn and has picked up a new trick in just a few days with us! He would be a champ with a little obedience training. Chance is eager to please, loves praise, and is very treat motivated. He has big puppy energy and a big loving heart. We really hope he lands a home soon with a yard, perhaps a playmate.... Come meet Chance and fall in love! Please call 707-459-4900 to make an appointment.

Lower Lake, CA
Size
(when grown) X-Large 101 lbs (46 kg) or more

Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,
Story
I acquired Neil through a rescue that is no longer in business. Was told he is a Plott Hound, but Vet papers say he's Dutch Shepherd x Rhodesian Ridgeback. The foster parent that had before me had Neil in her home for over a year. Neil needs a structured, foster home or owner that is strong and experienced. He pulls extremely hard on leash and jumps. I am a small person and cannot handle him. High energy dog. Neil is strong willed and an independent dog. Crate trained, rides well in car.
