Story
WATCH MY VIDEO...Casey is the kind of dog who makes it easy to fall in love. This beautiful 3-year-old was surrendered when her family felt they no longer had the time to care for her. While they had only been together for a short time, Casey once again finds herself searching for the one thing every dog deserves: a forever home where she is truly part of the family. Her previous family described her as playful, loving, affectionate, and happiest when she`s spending time with her people. She enjoys walks, trips to the dog park, and plenty of attention. Casey is housebroken, crate trained, knows commands such as `sit,` `stay,` and `go,` and is highly food motivated, making continued training a fun and rewarding experience. Since arriving at the shelter, Casey has impressed staff and volunteers with her sweet and gentle nature. While she can be a little shy when meeting new people, she warms up quickly and soon reveals her affectionate personality. She enjoys pets, cuddles, and is generous with kisses. Once she feels comfortable, her playful side emerges, including an adorable, goofy run that never fails to make people smile. Casey is generally calm and walks fairly well on a leash, although her curious nose occasionally convinces her to follow an interesting scent. Because of this, a harness may help her stay focused during walks and adventures. Her former family reported that she does well with adults and children and would make a wonderful family companion. However, Casey enjoys chasing cats, so she will need a cat-free home. She can also be selective about other dogs, so any potential canine sibling will need to meet her first to ensure a good match. More than anything, Casey wants to be loved. She wants a family to walk beside, a couch to cuddle on, and people she can shower with affection. She has so much love to give and is simply waiting for someone willing to give that love back. Casey`s story isn`t defined by being surrendered. It`s defined by her resilience, her sweet spirit, and her hope that the next family she meets will be the one that lasts forever. Could Casey be the missing piece your family has been looking for?

Story
Hi, I’m Babycakes, but my friends call me Sweet Cakes! I’m [age] old, [weight] Boxer / Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart as big as my smile. I love going for walks, playing fetch, and curling up in the comfiest bed I can find. One of my favorite pastimes is burrowing under blankets where it’s warm, cozy, and perfect for snuggling. I’m a well mannered girl who knows several commands, including sit, paw, and heel, and I have excellent house manners. I’m also a big fan of water, so if you have a pool, I’ll happily be your new swim buddy. I especially enjoy long walks with the shelter volunteers, and I know exactly where the local pet store is because I love browsing through all the dog toys and tasty treats. I’m a smart cookie (or cake, that is!), full of personality and charm. Now I’m ready to blow out my candle and make my one big wish; a forever home where I can share all my love, cuddles, and sweet adventures. You can follow along with my journey on Instagram at @babycakes_apr. To meet Babycakes, please fill out an application at Abandonedpetrescue.org! Story
Do you remember the show Scooby Doo? – well Peele could be that dog's stunt double! Peele is the sweetest Hound / Black Mouth Cur mix that’s about [age] old. He is well-mannered and is friendly with everyone he meets including other dogs. Peele knows basic commands and is an easygoing boy that is looking for a comfy couch to chill by your side. Because of his [weight] frame, a house would be ideal, but his mellow personality would be suitable for some apartments. Peele’s story is one that shows the true devotion of a dog and human bond. He was living in the car with his owner for nearly a year because his mom was homeless and refused to move into housing that wouldn’t allow her to bring Peele. Good samaritans, including a staff member of Abandoned Pet Rescue, were trying to get Peele and his mom somewhere safe. Finally, Peele was able to come to Abandoned Pet Rescue and his owner found affordable housing. Peele is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Meet Peele to see if he's the right fit for your loving home by completing an adoption application at AbandonedPetRescue.org Abandoned Pet Rescue is a no-kill animal shelter in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Story
Smiling Sammy! Meet this [age] old, [weight] Black Mouth Cur / Boxer mix with a sweet, people-oriented nature. She is very tuned in to the energy around her and takes her cues from her humans — calm environments bring out her relaxed, gentle side, while playtime brings out her happy zoomies. She would thrive in a low-key home with adults where people enjoy a balanced routine. She doesn’t need heavy exercise, but she does enjoy daily walks and the occasional burst of play to get her wiggles out. Once she’s had that, she’s content to settle and be close to her people. She is very smart and knows many commands plus she's potty trained and crate trained. She’s best suited to someone who understands that dogs like her do well when humans set a calm, confident tone. She is an affectionate, steady companion who wants to belong and be part of everyday life. You can follow Sammy's adventures and fall in love with her on Instagram at @sammy.apr.
