Dexter was found dumped with a very pregnant female dog who soon had 8 babies. We aren't sure he's the daddy, but he loves the mama. He is a big boy that will need structure and someone that can handle training him because he hasn't learned any manners. He is a total sweetheart that was dealt a bad hand in life, but now has a chance to find a wonderful home where he can be the best dog that he can be. He was wonderful potential and needs to be given a chance. He hasn't shown any aggression towards people, and he's met many recently, but seems to be a little more timid around other dogs. Please don't pass up this wonderful pup because he needs some training to be "civilized" because he is a total love. Dexter will need a high fence that he cannot jump or climb; he’s a master escape artist, but with discipline and a watchful eye, he will be just fine. He will be neutered and fully vetted before adoption. He can be cat tested upon request.SGER FAQs:We are a 501c3 non profit rescue.Your information in our application is not shared and is protocol for adoption. Here is the application link. https://shorturl.at/syCM3All of our dogs have age-appropriate vaccinations, if over 6 months old are spayed or neutered, if under 6 months adopter is responsible for having that done between 6 and 10 months of age (we can offer some low cost options for you), microchipped with lifetime free membership, dewormed and will go home with a 3 to 5 day dewormer as well. Any medical conditions known are disclosed to the best of our ability. Adults are hw tested and status is disclosed. Please don't let HW positive dogs deter you. Please ask us and we will gladly explain the slow kill process! If you are out of state or out of area that is not a problem, we do offer relay transport for a small additional fee to cover health certificates required for private interstate travel and additional vetting required. We run solely on donations and house 100 plus dogs and 10 plus horses at any given time. Please be patient but if you do not hear from us within 48 hours of submitting your application please reach out. We are human and we do get very busy sometimes. Adoption fees range from $150 to $400 We do not offer discounts of any kind. Adoption fees are set fees and not negotiable. These fees help with vetting on current and future animals we take in. We do not offer walk through "choose a dog/puppy" type experience. We are partially foster-based, we can help with matching dogs if you have something you have in mind so feel free to call or browse our available dogs at sger.petfinder.com You can meet before adoption but that is ONLY done with approved applicants. Hazel - is so adorable! Her mama is a black mouth cur mix; daddy is a medium size terrier mix. She already had her first set of puppy shots. Once she gets her rabies and spayed she will be ready for her furever home - should be in March 2026. Hazel loves to run and roll & have fun! She is almost all black; fluffy fur with brown highlights; with white under chin and the tips of her paws - quite a looker! Sitting for treats is a given, doing great in potty training - still hates a leash; so a major work in progress if it ever warms up! She will when she hears people walking past a closed door. Has no problem letting strangers petting her.

Meet Milo - available in March 2026. Part of an oops litter of 6. Both his parents are about 27" tall. His fur sparkles in the sun. He is on the quiet side, trying to get attention is hard with like 5 siblings! He is a bit shy, but warms up fast. He just turned 5 mos., waiting to get rabies shot & neutered before he can get adopted. Working on potty training, but the cold weather has made it difficult to continue. Very lovable and enjoys being petted.

Very shy, She just turned 5 mos., waiting to get rabies shot & spayed before she can get adopted. Working on potty training, but the cold weather has stalled her. Very lovable and playful.
