Aloha, I’m Rue. I’m a 2-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback with a gentle, shy personality who is still learning to feel safe and confident in the shelter environment. Right now, new places and situations can feel overwhelming for me, and I may freeze or hesitate when things are unfamiliar. The staff say I’m very sweet and calm despite my fear—I accept gentle pets and take treats softly. I’m still figuring things out and need time to feel secure and confident.I’m one of the dogs who “Needs Extra Help,” which means I would really benefit from a patient adopter or foster who can give me a calm space to decompress and build confidence at my own pace. I’ve also shown I do well with the comfort of another dog nearby, which seems to help me feel a bit more at ease.If you have a quiet home and a kind heart for a shy girl like me, I’d love to meet you. Schedule a meet and greet today or walk in anytime from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., except for Thursdays.
