Story
Milo is a 2ish-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. His story began on the streets, where he was found emaciated and struggling to survive. But thanks to some dedicated rescuers and a whole lot of love, Milo has made an incredible recovery. Milo is a playful, affectionate dog. Whether he’s racing around the yard or snuggling up on the couch, Milo brings a contagious energy and warmth to the home. He is a big goofy guy. Milo gets very excited on leash when he sees other dogs. He will benefit from an owner that can do some more training with him. Luckily, Milo loves to learn and responds really well to positive reinforcement. He's still young and full of curiosity, so he’ll thrive in a home that enjoys adventure, playtime, and lots of cuddle sessions. He’s also got a sweet, gentle side—curling up beside his people is one of his favorite things to do. Milo's come a long way from where he started and is more than ready for a fresh start with a family who will love him as much as he loves them. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s equal parts fun and affection, Milo might just be your perfect match. Neuter, microchip, and current vaccines all included in his adoption fee. Story
Meet Buddy – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Perfect Match! Buddy is a senior Ridgeback/Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart full of love and a personality that shines once he feels safe. He may be shy at first and take some time to decompress, but once he’s comfortable, his sweet and gentle nature comes through. Buddy absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys their company. He is both house-trained and crate-trained—in fact, his crate is his happy place! When left alone, he prefers the security of his kennel, and even when his humans are home, he often chooses to relax there with the door open. This lovable senior does well on a leash and would thrive in a quiet, low-energy home with a patient adopter who understands that he needs time to adjust. While he hasn't been around young children, his gentle nature suggests he would be great with them. We don’t know how he is with cats, but he gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Buddy’s favorite toys are anything soft and squishy, and he enjoys the simple comforts of companionship. He would be the perfect match for someone looking for a loving, loyal companion who doesn’t need a high-energy lifestyle. With patience and understanding, Buddy has so much love and potential to share. Are you the kind soul ready to give Buddy the forever home he deserves? Story
MEET HOWIE! This happy, gentle Lab-Rhodesian Ridgeback-Pit mix is a loverboy! Howie is 5-1/2 years young and has a heart full of love to give. He was rescued from a California shelter in very rough shape - he had major skin issues/hair loss and had clearly been neglected, but now he looks so much better! He's appreciative of love and attention and is a very affectionate boy. He's a big snuggler and will want to share your bed. He loves going for walks and other outings. He is good with some dogs but not others, so would probably thrive as the only dog in the home, or with a submissive female. He's been waiting a long time for his own home, and we're hoping he can find a home by the end of the year. Howie currently needs a foster or forever home. He weighs about 55-60 lbs. Howie is still in California, but can be transported to you in Idaho. Please email for an application.

Story
Ranger is a 5 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback. We got him from a ridgeback breeder when we lived in Texas. We had more room for him there and more time. We had 3rd child (unexpected) since then and just can't give him the time and space that he deserves now. Rangers one issue is that he has a history of seizures. Not often though, maybe one to two a year. No history of biting or aggression. Takes a few minutes to warm up to men. He's a great dog. Just needs more attention than we can give him.

These pups are in Boise, Idaho too!

Story
Penny is a 3-year-old Catahoula with a big heart and an even bigger desire to be near her people. This sweet, intelligent girl is house-trained, leash-savvy, and knows her basic commands. She’s both active and cuddly — equally happy joining you for a walk or curling up on the couch. Penny thrives on routine and gentle care, especially when it comes to her sensitive tummy. She’s still working on her confidence around kids and prefers a feline-free home, but really enjoys other dogs. While crate-trained, Penny much prefers being close to her humans and can get anxious when left alone. She communicates through sweet whines rather than barks and loves a good bone or stuffed toy. Penny's perfect match would be a calm and gentle adult household that is home often, and loves to include their new pup on outings. If you're looking for a loyal, people-loving pup who just wants to be part of your world, Penny may be the perfect match. Please start with the adoption application: freedomboundhounds.com/adopt
