Meet Buddy – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Perfect Match! Buddy is a senior Ridgeback/Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart full of love and a personality that shines once he feels safe. He may be shy at first and take some time to decompress, but once he’s comfortable, his sweet and gentle nature comes through. Buddy absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys their company. He is both house-trained and crate-trained—in fact, his crate is his happy place! When left alone, he prefers the security of his kennel, and even when his humans are home, he often chooses to relax there with the door open. This lovable senior does well on a leash and would thrive in a quiet, low-energy home with a patient adopter who understands that he needs time to adjust. While he hasn't been around young children, his gentle nature suggests he would be great with them. We don’t know how he is with cats, but he gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Buddy’s favorite toys are anything soft and squishy, and he enjoys the simple comforts of companionship. He would be the perfect match for someone looking for a loving, loyal companion who doesn’t need a high-energy lifestyle. *** HIS FEE IS SPONSORED AND PAID FOR BY KEY REALTY HOMES! ***Meet Norman! Norman has been at the shelter now for a year and a half and will require an experienced dog owner who will continue training in the home! Norman came to us as a stray and needed a lot of training before he was able to become adoptable. When Norman first came in, everything to him caused him to become overstimulated and at times, did result in him responding negatively due to not being able to think clearly. He is now on Prozac which has given him a clear mindset and allowed him to not be nearly as anxious and stressed as he was before. Unfortunately he cannot live with other dogs or cats but in public, he does ok at times seeing other dogs. He does have a tendency to guard his food/high value items so is best to be with teens and older. He is reactive to loud vehicles and motorcycles so a quiet neighborhood or secluded home would be ideal for him. No apartments please. He will need an experienced dog owner and someone who is active who will make sure his needs are being met daily. Training is required with us after adoption and during adoption period to make sure he transitions well and is being lead for success. It would also be ideal to have a quiet home with fewer visitors so less unexpected things happen daily for him! He is great with his routine!!Read more here:We are very proud to say we have the ability to allow only staff in with the dogs and only allow the public to do meet and greets with an approved application OUTSIDE of the kennels, if everyone feels it’s a good fit. Dogs like Norman would never be okay if there were people in and out all day looking at him. Thankfully, we do have the ability to accommodate his needs, however Norman has been with us over a year and waiting for his forever home. Norman is a dog who REQUIRES SPECIAL TRAINING AND HOME NEEDS. Norman is such a good dog who really needs someone who is willing to give all their time to training him. He was found as a stray and due to this, we didn’t know anything about his past. He is highly reactive in situations involving loud vehicles and new people and animals in the shelter. In public, he does very well if you give him direction. He is highly food motivated. He does need someone able to redirect him before he starts to react and help boost his confidence. He can be protective of food and space which is something a new owner will need to understand and learn about. Once he tru
