Story
What can I say about Buddy! He is a loving dog who is super smart. I saw him listed on a neighborhood app. He had been dumped or left behind in an apartment complexes parking lot. RCAC had put a cage out but they were full to capacity at the time so I was able to catch him myself and get him fattened up, shots, neutered, He eats good healthy nutritional food, he is still on his potty training journey as being grown and a wanderer and being intact he marked his territory and he still needs training with that, of course. I have given this dog the best and want to find a forever home who will love him like me.

Story
Hi, my name is Cooper!I’m a goofy, loving, and loyal boy looking for a calm, forever home where I can finally feel safe and understood. I’ve been at the shelter for a while now, and no one really knows why—I`m smart, cuddly, and full of love once you get to know me!I’m not much of a barker, but I do love to “talk” to my people—my previous foster mom never quite understood what I was saying, but she always laughed and smiled. I’ve been abandoned before, so meeting new people can be scary for me. I may bark at first, but it’s just because I’m nervous. Once I trust you (especially if you bring treats), you’ll be in my pack forever.I’d do best in a quiet home with no children, or only older kids who truly understand and respect boundaries. I need a confident dog-savvy adopter who will commit to helping me build trust and confidence through positive reinforcement and patience. I’m reactive to most people when walking, so I’ll need someone who is willing to work on this with me using calm exposure and consistency.I’m house-trained, trustworthy outside of a crate, and love both outdoor adventures and couch snuggles. I’m also super food-motivated, so training with me is fun and easy! With structure, exercise, and love, I’ll show you just how amazing of a companion I can be.If you’re looking for a sweet, smart, low-key best friend, I’m your guy. I just need someone to believe in me.My adoption fee of $50 includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! What more could you ask for?If you`d like to meet me, please fill out an application on our website, PawmettoLifeline.org. Adoptions are by appointment Tuesday through Thursday, Friday and Saturday are walk in from 10-5. Please fill out the online application, and you will be contacted if you are approved and are a good fit for one of our adoptable pets.

Story
Meet Volkie!Volkie is a 4-year-old Black Mouth Cur with a big heart and an even bigger personality. This handsome boy loves adventure just as much as he loves cuddles — whether it’s a walk by the river, a camping trip, or curling up on the couch as the little spoon, Volkie is happiest when he’s with his person. He’s a smart pup who knows his commands in both English and German (and listens best to German!). Volkie is relatively low-energy day to day but plays hard when it’s time for fun. He loves tug-of-war and fetch, and his favorite toys are stuffed animals — especially ducks and octopuses — though he can’t resist removing all the stuffing. He’s a blanket-lover too, though it’s a supervised privilege since he sometimes decides they’re snacks.A true fashionista, Volkie enjoys showing off his style in sweaters, puffers, and even cozy pajamas when it’s chilly. He’s also a talker — expressive, vocal, and full of opinions, especially when he’s feeling playful or wants attention.Volkie is gentle with children and loves to show affection with kisses and “corn-cobbing.” He walks well on leash but can pull when he gets excited, so he’ll do best with someone who can confidently handle him. He should be kept leashed outdoors or in a fully fenced yard since he’s a bit of a runner and can’t resist chasing squirrels or birds. When left home alone, Volkie is calm and content, but being away from home without his person can make him anxious — a calming treat and a busy toy like a frozen Kong help him settle.Volkie is a loyal, loving companion who wants nothing more than time, attention, and a family to share his adventures with. If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate, slightly goofy best friend to fill your days with love (and a few giggles), Volkie is your boy.My adoption fee of $50 includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! What more could you ask for?If you`d like to meet me, please fill out an application on our website, PawmettoLifeline.org.Adoptions are by appointment Tuesday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, you’re welcome to walk in anytime between 10:00am and 5:00pm. Please note that we’re closed for adoptions on Sundays and Mondays.
