Story
Meet Silver Maple Tree! She is currently 5 weeks old, and we think she may be a German Shepherd / Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. Watch Silver Maple's video here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YvTfPb2Z4iE&feature=youtu.be Silver Maple is currently in a loving foster home and loves to play and take lots of naps! Eat, sleep, play, repeat. Silver Maple is living her best puppy life right now - all she needs is YOU! Silver Maple is still young so she will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Silver Maple's new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and hikes or show off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! Application link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6827600c878bdf8f390e7597 Please email krissa@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Our East Coast route will travel in a private, air conditioned 3LP-run van transport. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. One of our Adoption Coordinators can help to find the closest transport pick up location to you! The adoption fee is $900.00 and includes all vetting as recommended by our doctor: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine (if old enough), multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2 months of heartworm preventative, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! *WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW or the NE at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Oh my good golly gracious how I loved getting to know Nelson!!!! Nelson is that dog—the one who steals your heart before you even sit down. During our visit, his favorite place to be was cozied up on the couch, curled against us in a tangle of kisses and tail wags. He’s a tall drink of water with the soul of a teddy bear, and he knows exactly how to win you over with his affectionate nature and striking good looks. We believe Nelson is a hound mix and is about 2 years old and 46 pounds. Due to him being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed, but he makes up for the uncertainty of his genetics with his looks and charm. Check out this stud muffin below! https://youtu.be/FLOR-YY53Os Nelson currently does not live with any kiddos, but his foster told us that this gentle guy has been around newborns and little ones and was nothing but calm and kind. If you have a specific age group of kids Nelson would be around, let us know and we would be happy to see how he interacts with them! We want to make sure he is perfect for you! Based on what his foster said and his affection towards me during his visit, we believe he’d make a wonderful family dog for a home with respectful young children who can handle the occasional enthusiastic smooch, or older kids who’d love to toss a ball around the yard with him. Nelson is quite the curious fellow, especially when it comes to cats. He’s a little too intrigued for their liking, so a cat-free home will be the best match for him. As for canine companions, he lives with multiple foster doggy siblings! He would do great with a low to medium energy friend! He definitely is down to play but is equally okay being a devoted solo companion to his human friends! A natural glider with a love for movement, Nelson really shines when he has space to roam and run. I LOVED watching him effortlessly dart down from one edge of the yard to the other. Because of that, he’d do best in a home with a yard rather than an apartment. His athleticism mixed with his affectionate heart makes him the perfect companion for someone who loves to snuggle after a good romp outdoors. Are you looking for a friend to travel with? Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
