Story
Navin was our Global Superstar! He went ot the news to help find his new home!! This handsome 3-year-old neutered Rottweiler is a resilient, thoughtful tripod who proves every day that having three legs doesn’t slow his heart or his willingness to learn. He knows his basics like sit and down, takes treats gently, and does best with clear verbal guidance from a confident, experienced dog owner who understands the Rottweiler breed. He’s looking for a calm, adult-only home that offers structure, routine, and moderate, monitored activity to support his physical needs, including daily leash walks and a securely fenced backyard. He thrives as the only dog in the home, and isn’t suited for off-leash parks while he continues working on recall, bonding, and dog-to-dog comfort. Thoughtful handling and resource management are important for him, as is a commitment to a food program that includes interactive feeders, hand-feeding, and positive trade-ups. To help him succeed long-term, adopters must be able to participate in a private behaviour training class. In the right home, this loyal, steady companion will reward dedication with deep connection and quiet strength. This boy is a lovebug and loves to be with people.Size: Medium 30kg/66lbsChildren: Adult only home pleaseCats: Not tested with cats. We recommend slow introductionsDogs: Require only dog in home. Will need controlled introductions to learn to be comfortable with dog interactions.

Story
Age: 4 tearsSex: Neutered MaleEstimated Breed: Rottie XWeight: UnknownGood with dogs? Not recommendedGood with cats? NoGood with children? UnknownSpecial/Medical Needs: NoneEstimated Energy Level: Medium - HighMinimum Adoption Fee: $650Current Location: Coming into care from the Yukon Meet Tank! He is a Rottweiler Mix who is approximately 4 years old and neutered. This boy has seen some horrors in his short life. He came from a domestic violence home where he could no longer tolerate the male of the home beating the lady of the house. It was mentioned that Tank did not get aggressive or bite but instead stood between the humans, guarding the woman until the aggressor backed down walked away.  During Tanks time in this home, he was boarded at a training facility off and on for about 2-years before he was finally surrendered to the facility. He’s come to trust the facility as a haven free from violence. He knows his basic commands but will need to work on his leash skills. He is crate trained and house-trained, but much prefers to be an outside dog. Because Tank is a protector, he will climb a fence or find away to break out of a pen so he can be near his humans, so we do not recommend he be left outside unattended.  Although Tank is a very loving boy with humans, he is not recommended to be around other dogs. The training facility has been working through his issues and he has improved greatly but he still has little tolerance, especially with male dogs. Tank is a resource guarder to he would be much happier as an only pet. Tank has historically been prone to getting hot spots every spring and every fall on his cheek area, but they don’t last too long without medical intervention. He has had previous eye surgery for entropion (curled in eyelashes) Tanks ideal home is a quieter environment with a moderately active individual or couple, without other pets. He would thrive with guardians who will strive to help him forget his abusive past. If you think want to consider this dog, please fill out an application. ##1447039##
