Story
We took Sunny in as a puppy. She had been abandoned and we wanted to try to give her a good home. We already have a three year old Shiba Inu that would get along with other dogs so we thought it would be a good fit. After 6 months Sunny and our other dog do not get along. Sunny is a sweet natured dog, but she does not mix well with our other dog. And since we did not know how big Sunny was going to be when we took her in, she is now more than twice the size of our Shiba. This makes it that when she rough houses with the Shiba (as puppies do), the Shiba has gotten hurt more than once. It has also made training her very difficult. We have come to the realization that we are not the best home for Sunny. She is energetic, happy and good natured. We only want the best for her and hope that she goes to a loving family that is ready for her brand of energetic love.

Story
Tank is a 6-year-old male Rottweiler who is available for adoption at CCHS! Unfortunately, Tank's previous caretaker passed way, so now he's in need of a new home. Tank is a Very Good Boy who did well with other dogs and children in his previous home. He is a very calm, mellow boy - a sweet "gentle giant" - and loves being next to his person. He also loves treats, especially hotdogs (although he is a bit overweight and should cut back on those!) Come meet this sweet, big boy at CCHS!

These pups are in Decatur, Illinois too!

Story
applications at leiashope.org located in Decatur, IL **Robin – 1 Year Old Boxer** Robin is a beautiful 1-year-old Boxer weighing about 50 pounds. She is good with other dogs, kids, and cats, and she has the sweet, goofy, playful personality Boxers are known for. Boxers are typically loyal, affectionate, playful, energetic, and people-loving dogs. They are also strong, athletic, and full of enthusiasm, so Robin will do best with a family that can keep up with her energy and safely handle her strength. Robin is a former puppy mill dog. When she first came into rescue, she was shy and a little fearful, but after a few weeks in foster care, she is already doing much better. Like many dogs coming from a mill background, Robin may regress some when she moves to a new home. She will need a patient, kind family who understands that trust takes time and that she is still learning how to be a loved family pet instead of a profit maker. Robin is learning how to be a normal pet by watching her foster doggy friend. Because of this, she will require a canine companion in her adoptive home to help her continue gaining confidence and learning the routines of family life. Robin is also strong and can be a flight risk, so she will require a secure physical fenced yard and an adopter who can safely manage her strength, especially during transitions, leashing for appointments, and new situations. Potential Boxer health concerns can include heart disease, certain cancers, hip dysplasia, degenerative myelopathy, and skin or allergy issues. Not every Boxer will experience these problems, but adopters should be familiar with the breed and committed to regular veterinary care. Robin’s adoption fee is $400. She is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines, and on monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Robin is located in Decatur, Illinois. Leia’s Hope Canine Rescue is a volunteer-run rescue, and all of our dogs are in foster homes. We require an approved application before meet and greets. Applications can take 8–10 business days to process. All family members, including resident dogs, must be present for the meet and greet. Adoptions are held at the dog’s location. We do not provide transport. To apply, please visit **leiashope.org**.
