When he first arrived, he was completely shut down — frozen in fear, unable to move, unsure how to exist in a safe place. But just like the character he was named after, he’s slowly, bravely finding his footing.We were told he is a mix of apple-headed Chihuahua and Boxer, and his beautiful red coat makes him just as striking on the outside as he is tender on the inside.Yukon doesn’t rush. He doesn’t demand. He gently reveals who he is when he feels safe. For the people he trusts, he becomes playful, silly, and surprisingly goofy. Watching him come out of his shell has been one of the quiet joys of our shelter.Yukon Cornelius needs a patient, kind-hearted home — someone who understands that healing isn’t instant and love is built slowly. Dwight was originally adopted as a puppy and sadly returned to the shelter after a year. He is looking for a new furever family that won't give up on him. He is a large dog and a DNA test done by one of his siblings has revealed that he is 64% Doberman! He is used to living indoors and is house trained. He is very treat motivated and picks up on new tricks very quickly! This boy loves to learn! He is very smart and needs a somewhat active family willing to play and exercise him every day. He is such a cool dog. That means all you need to save him is an approved application!
