Story
Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617**Due to Rory needing spayed, her adoption will not be finalized until on or after: TBDCould she do well with kids? Yes, with children around 12 years, on a kid-by-kid basis.Could she do well with other dogs? Yes, on a dog-by-dog basis.Has this dog lived with cats? Unknown. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Rory is an energetically sweet dog who shows frustration when kenneled, eagerly jumping at her kennel door to get out. Once outside, she pulled strongly on the leash and jumped up when she wanted to keep moving. She showed excitement meeting other dogs, though her attempted interactions with smaller dogs were rude, displaying tense body posture and intense focus. Additionally, she can behave rudely when meeting new people, often jumping on them to investigate.Throughout most of the assessment, Rory stayed nearby, circling back after exploring. She was hesitant during husbandry handling but managed well, rarely ending the interactions early. Rory exhibited a strong fixation on tennis balls, ignoring other toys and her surroundings while possessing one. She refused to release it but traded it for treats successfully. Rory seemed confused by my invitation to run around the room together, showing discomfort.---For more resources to help with any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDT

Story
Macy is likely a 3 year old mix of Rottweiler/Pit Bull mix that was found as a stray dog in Pittston, Pa. But nobody reclaimed her after being posted on lost dog Facebook pages for 4 months. So the person who found her asked our rescue to find her a good home. She weighs 53 lbs. The person that found her and brought Macy to his home initially was growling at the owner's small dog while it was jumping into her face and barking. But the person believed she was stressed out by coming into a new home after being lost or abandoned and having a dog jump in her face! So they immediately separated the two dogs and never left them together! So we really don't know yet if she is dog friendly or not, but we will test her with other dogs soon! We know she is not cat friendly when we recently cat tested her. We believe she is spayed already. He never had heat but we will have her checked by our veterinarian, and spayed if she does need it. She is currently vaccinated, microchipped and tested for heartworm/Lyme and two other tick borne diseases! All negative on everything luckily! She is absolutely people and kid friendly! Housetrained too! Calm in the home! potty! If you are interested in meeting or adopting Macy please text Casey at 570-441-0083. We adopt to the general public but we also adopt to military veterans with adoption fee waived in order to provide our heroes with companion or emotional support dogs . Our other adoptable pets our posted on our website as well as the very brief (5 minutes) application form. https://rescuepetsservingvets.org ##2648380##
