Story
A veteran with worsening medical challenges needs to surrender his pure bred 8 month old male Rottie pup. The breeder has refused to take him back. We want to help him out, but in order for us to do that, we need either an approved, committed foster home or approved adopter, familiar with the needs of a working dog this age. He describes his pup as "good with other dogs, crate trained, 'he went to a camp and they loved him there', and I personally never had an issue with him on the leash at all, plus he responds to his name very well. I’m not sure about cats but he’s not aggressive I haven’t ever heard him bark tbh and he is amazing with strangers". This is a nice dog and deserves a safe, loving home. Barkley is a sweet 5 yr old rottie mix. She has been in rescue over 3 years. She needs to find her forever home. She does have a high prey drive, so no cats or small dogs. She has done absolutely fine with older children. She has not been exposed to smaller kids other than walking through the store and did fine. She has been completely vetted and is house and crate trained. She loves her belly rubs and will often wait for you to give her one before coming inside. She has no issues

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Sierra spent most of her life living in complete filth with tank. She ended up in a shelter and when we saw her we knew we had to help them. Tank and Sierra both got  their freedom ride and now  live in the pooch palace :) Sierra was having some issues with her legs and being stiff and sore so we gave her a librella injection and meds and she is thriving! She LOVES playing in the field with the biggest smile on her face. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
