Story
Meet Ryder! 🐾
If you’re looking for a giant dog with an even bigger heart, Ryder may be the perfect addition to your family!
Ryder is a purebred Rottweiler with an absolutely incredible, happy-go-lucky personality. He truly believes every day is a celebration. New people, new adventures, toys, walks, training sessions, and especially other dogs… Ryder approaches life with enthusiasm, confidence, and a tail that never seems to stop wagging.
He is house trained, crate trained, and a proud graduate of our Paws-in-Prison training program. Ryder has an excellent obedience foundation and has learned all of the skills we expect from our program. As with any young dog, his future family will need to continue practicing and reinforcing those skills. We will teach his adopters exactly how he has been trained so they can continue building on the strong foundation he already has.
Ryder absolutely loved training, but let’s be honest… he’s still a young dog! Occasionally something catches his attention and suddenly it becomes the most exciting thing in the world. If a leaf blows across the yard, he notices. If his dog friends are nearby, they can sometimes become more interesting than whatever you’re asking him to do. It’s all very typical for a young dog, and he always comes back ready to learn. The important part is that he has the training foundation, the willingness to learn, and all the potential to become an exceptional lifelong companion.
Ryder absolutely loves other dogs and thrives on being with people. In fact, he would hands-down love to live in a home with another playful dog. He is extremely dog friendly and dog social, and we would strongly prefer to see him in a home where he has a canine companion to run, wrestle, and play with every day. Having another playful dog would make Ryder’s world complete.
One thing prospective adopters absolutely need to understand is Ryder’s size. He is an enormous Rottweiler with plenty of growing and maturing still ahead of him. While he has wonderful manners and a solid training foundation, he is a powerful dog simply because of his size. His family should be prepared to continue his training, provide regular exercise, and be committed to owning a giant breed responsibly.
If you’re looking for a big, goofy, affectionate best friend who will make you smile every single day, Ryder is ready to become part of your family.
