Story
Cub is HOT-PAWS longest stay dog. He came to us as a stray in 2020, and although he has had a little interest, no one has actually come to meet him. Initially he was heartworm positive, and part of our No Dog Left Behind Project, but after treatment he currently tests negative. He last received Pro-Heart 12 in August of 2024 This boy is friendly. He is good with some other dogs, particularly females and some more submissive males. He is not good with cats and small animals and would be careful with him and small dogs. Despite his age, he remains active. He walks well on a leash and crates okay. He requires a secure fence. This handsome boy would love a chance to find a home to call his own.

Murphy is a big guy with a big heart. Weighing in at around 100 lbs, he loves to play with anything or anybody who is willing to engage with him. He gets along great with other dogs and will certainly enjoy having a doggie playmate in his future home. A big yard to run around in would be fantastic. We would prefer only older children in his future home, strictly because of Murphy's size. You have to meet him to truly appreciate this pure bred gem of a dog. How about it? Our Furry Friendz are available for adoption through a screening process which includes but is not limited to: a completed application, 3 referrals, a home visit, and a vet referral prior to their furever home placement. The dogs are Spayed/Neutered, micro chipped, current on all vaccines and on heart worm/flea preventive. Meet Karl! He is a 2yr old neutered male Doberman Pinscher/Rottweiler mix that weighs 67lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray on 1/3. Karl has a sweet soul and enjoys getting plenty of pets. He walks well on a leash, sits for treats and takes them gently. He also will try very hard to convince you that just a few treats are not enough. Sometimes he gets excited and will jump, yet he takes redirection well. His little nubby tail never stops wagging. As he did see a few other dogs, he did bark at them, so we do ask if you have another dog in the home to please ask the shelter for a dog test. You can see in his beautiful brown how a loving family companion he will be. Where he needs to live is in a home, not an apartment, have a secured yard to play in, then come back inside where he can spend his time next to his loving family cuddling on the couch. Or having his own fluffy dog bed so he can snore the nights away is what wonderful Karl dreams of.

This sweet boy is Arnie. He is a large boy that loves to run! He currently has about an acre to run with three buddies and he likes water. He is a very food motivated boy, so we don't recommend a home with small children. Arnie is neutered and up to date on vacs and is crate trained.
