Who doesn`t love a good Mai Tai? Well, this one is the best. He`s well balanced and sure to start your summer off right. Mai Tai is an exuberant, social adolescent Vizla Saluki mix. He has been in a foster home where he has been around other dogs and dog-savvy adult cats. He thrives with above average physical stimulation (think hiking, running, walking and play with other dogs) as well as mental stimulation (positive reinforcement training and sniffaris). Mai Tai is not a couch potato and is not going to just want to chill on a rainy day. Whether you`re feeling a little under the weather or the weather is over cast - Kai will want to stretch his long legs and get some miles under his paws. After getting his ya-ya`s out - Mai Tai is a big snuggle bug who tries to fit in your lap like he`s a little baby.The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw!Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
