Story
Meet Bella! A graceful six-and-a-half-year-old Saluki/Labrador Retriever mix currently living in Portsmouth, VA, whose essence is a poetic blend of athletic elegance and soulful loyalty wrapped in a shiny black coat with white accents. Bella’s story began far across the ocean in Bahrain, and after traveling to the United States at just six months old, she has blossomed into a deeply intelligent and devoted companion. At 63 pounds, Bella is a sleek, athletic girl who loves sprinting laps around the yard, running alongside her human on hikes, and pulling every toy from her basket just to nap among them—her quirky way of making sure none of her beloved treasures feel left out! She’s crate trained, leash trained, and knows commands like sit, stay, down, up, give paw, and recall by name. Her guardians share that by 8 pm sharp, she transforms into a sleepy pumpkin ready to curl up for a quiet evening—a gentle routine that brings peace to any home. Bella thrives on structure and finds joy in simple pleasures like chewing her sturdy bones or playfully borrowing her cat siblings’ tiny toys. Bella is selective with dogs but has had positive experiences with calm, smaller canine friends. She lives peacefully with cats, handling alone time up to eight hours with ease. While she takes Trazodone for long car rides and has fear-based reactivity in crowded or unpredictable settings, her heart is pure gold with her trusted inner circle, greeting them with loving eyes and endless devotion. She would do best in a calm, child-free home with an experienced pet parent who understands her cautious nature and offers her consistent, gentle guidance. Bella has a history of fear-based biting incidents when startled or approached too quickly, so her new family should prioritize calm introductions and continue working on confidence-building through positive reinforcement. Her seasonal allergies occasionally cause itching, but she remains healthy, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. Bella is searching for a caring environment where she can be both protector and best friend, basking in morning sunbeams before snoozing at dusk. Could you be the patient, loving family ready to watch Bella’s brilliance shine every single day? We’re also including a month of professional behavioral support to help Bella settle into her next chapter with ease and reassurance. To welcome Bella into your life, contact adopt@joyfulpets.com! Are you ready for this beautiful girl’s next chapter of loyal companionship and peaceful twilight cuddles?

Story
Meet Truffles -“The Ears Have It!” Few critters in the animal kingdom have ears that can move separately, up/down, folded, or crisscrossed. The magnificent Truffles is one of the few! This gorgeous, friendly, athletic gal is endowed with huge stick up bat signal ears. When not receiving transmissions, one or both of her giant receivers crisscross atop her head. She loves long walks on her leash, zooming, playing with balls & stuffies, tug-of-war and of course, cuddling. Truffles was born with a genetic condition called mega esophagus that requires a bit of extra time & special steps at meals. She has a custom chair that allows her to eat in an upright position. Truffles eagerly gets into her chair as she is quite food motivated. She sits in her chair for 15 -20 minutes after eating. She cannot have treats. And that is it! You might notice her throat moving like a bullfrog when she is sleeping, due to the enlarged esophagus, but that is nothing to worry about. She is intelligent, active, affectionate, and eager to please. She is ideal for an active family or individual. More Attributes! Leash trained Loves kids, but likely too boisterous for little ones Needs extra care at meal time Local adoption fee is$200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 💥🐾 Meet Maggie — Your New Adventure Buddy in a Wiggle-Suit! 🐾💥 (1 Year • 50lbs • Joy Distributor) If you’ve been waiting for a dog who can keep up with your adventures, make you laugh daily, and snuggle like it’s her full-time job… Maggie has entered the chat. This 1-year-old 50ish lb Greyhound/Catahoula mix (best guess) is a perfect combo of fun-loving energy and melt-your-heart sweetness. She’s the type of girl who will chase a ball like she’s training for the Fetch Olympics, then flop dramatically across your lap like she hasn’t played in decades. Maggie is friendly, social, and absolutely adores people and other dogs — she’s the life of the party AND the cuddle session. Kids? She loves them too! Cats? Still a mystery, but she’s young enough that with a proper intro, things could go just fine. 🏆 Maggie’s Special Skills Include: • Being the first one to the door when adventure calls • Wiggling so hard her whole body participates • Making new dog friends everywhere she goes • Believing fetch is a legally binding contract • Switching from turbo mode to snuggle mode in 0.2 seconds • Giving big, soulful “love me forever” eyes She’s kennel trained, housebroken, and ready to slide right into your family’s routine without missing a beat. Whether it’s walks, hikes, backyard zoomies, Netflix marathons, snack-sharing, or bedtime snuggles — Maggie is 110% in. This sweet girl is currently with one of our rescue partners. We work together like a well-oiled life-saving machine, and we’ll gladly pull her into Hay Dude Rescue to complete her adoption once her forever family says, “That’s our girl!” 🌟 Quick Stats: • 1-year-old • Friendly, playful, energetic, and affectionate • Great with dogs + kids • Cats unknown • Kennel trained + housebroken • Adventure buddy by day — cuddlebug by night If you want a dog who brings joy, laughter, loyalty, and non-stop tail wags into your life, Maggie is ready to pack her bags (okay, her favorite toy) and join your family. 👉 Apply at haydudeequine.org — let Maggie turn every day into an adventure and every moment into a memory. 💛🐾
