Story
Riley is a sweet and gentle Saluki mix 6 years old and 75 pounds. He can be shy and takes some time to warm up to new people but once he does he is a loyal and loving companion. Riley prefers a calm and quiet environment. He has had successful dog meets but would prefer to be the only dog in the home. Riley's adoption fee has been sponsored. Each animal is fixed, up to date on core vaccines, microchipped, heartworm &/or 4dx tested, kept on monthly preventions, and dewormed. If you are interested in adopting any of our animals please fill out an application on our website lastchanceranch.org. PA Kennel License #4518

Story
Scout Saluki 1 year, Male, Large WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals’ lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care. Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying. NAME: Scout BREED: Saluki DOB: 7/21/23 HOME RECOMMENDATION: Scout thrives best in a home with a fenced yard where he can run and play. Due to his timid nature, he may not do well in busy areas and would like to be a suburban pup. Scout is happiest when in the company of his people who will shower him in love! PERSONALITY: Scout is a very sweet and gentle boy who loves being close to his family. He has a good balance between playtime and relaxation. Scout is friendly and happy, although he can be a little shy at times but warms up quickly. He is gentle when taking treats, toys, and food. Scout enjoys playing with stuffed animals, fetching (even though he's not the best catcher, he will always bring the ball back), going for walks, and engaging with treat-dispensing challenge toys like Kongs. He loves to spend time outside in nature DOGS: Scout is friendly with other dogs and would enjoy having playmates. CATS: Yes, he has lived with cats before KIDS: Yes, he has been with young kids and does well! TRAINING:Scout is still a puppy and continues to learn. He is working on his leash training, preferring to walk side by side. Scout is also learning commands like "come" and will happily learn more if treats are involved. He is making progress with house training, and with a consistent schedule he will learn fast. He sleeps on the couch when alone or in the bed and can be left alone for a few hours, but it's best to put away any tempting items due to his young age. WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Scout was surrendered to WISE after his owners had a change in living circumstances and realized their environment was not best suited for Scout. Despite this, he is doing well and eager to find his forever family! Head to WiseAnimalRescue.org to get started on our adoption application. Our adoption areas include: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maine, Vermont, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.

Story
Manny is a handsome guy with a great personality. He loves to run and play. Although he definitely enjoys the company of other dogs, some dogs will tolerate his antics, and some will not. Any interaction between him and other dogs would need to be supervised until it is certain everyone gets along. Like many sighthounds, Manny has a high small prey drive, so potential adopters would need to be mindful of that on walks. He would probably love running critters or birds out of vegetable gardens or vineyards! When he is not running or playing, Manny is perfectly content to be stretched out on a couch snoozing.

Story
Bruno is a happy boy with a sunny personality and a full body wiggle, but he lacks confidence with humans he doesn’t know so well! We have shown this sweet pup to quite a few potential adopters but he has always been too nervous to interact. Bruno is great with other dogs, so we think another pup would be just the thing to make Bruno feel more secure in a new home, and help him shine. Bruno will need to be adopted to a family with a fenced in yard.
