Meet Ziggy 🐾 Ziggy is a 5-year-old Akita-Chow mix with a heart as big as his fluffy coat. This sweet, gentle boy is the perfect blend of playful energy and calm companionship. He loves spending his time playing with his favorite toys, soaking up all the pets he can get, and simply being by your side. Ziggy is fully potty trained and well-mannered, making him an easy addition to a loving home. He’s the kind of dog who will happily join you for some fun and then settle in for a cozy evening nearby. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who’s ready to be part of a forever family, Ziggy might just be your perfect match. 💛 Ziggy is currently in a foster home. To schedule a meet, call us at 530-343-7917 x 106. ♥What Ziggy’s Foster Family Has to Say About Him! Ziggy is a wonderful boy with so many great qualities. He is well-trained, eager to please, and has excellent manners around the home. He knows commands such as sit, stay, and lay down, takes treats very gently, and patiently waits for permission before eating his meals. He learns routines quickly and responds well to consistent guidance. Around the house, Ziggy is a loyal companion who enjoys being near his people. During family meals, he settles nearby and likes to be part of the action. He may benefit from eating at the same time as the family or spending mealtime in his crate to help him relax. Ziggy is also a great watchdog. He is attentive to his surroundings and alerts his family when something catches his attention, making him an excellent companion for someone looking for both a loving dog and an added sense of security. One of Ziggy’s strengths is how quickly he adapts to house rules. For example, he initially enjoyed sleeping on the bed but learned new boundaries in just a few days. He is smart, trainable, and eager to understand what is expected of him. Ziggy would likely do best in a home with older children (12+) and may be successful in a home with cats when proper introductions, management, and continued training are provided. He is very interested in cats and enjoys keeping an eye on them. He currently barks when he sees them and may chase if they run, so slow introductions and supervision are important. A confident, dog-savvy cat that is comfortable around dogs would likely be the best match. Because of his curiosity and excitement around cats, adopters should be prepared to continue reinforcing calm behavior and providing positive guidance as he learns appropriate interactions. We truly believe Ziggy will make an amazing companion for the right family. He is affectionate, intelligent, well-mannered, and full of potential. We are confident that someone will be very lucky to welcome him into their home.♥
