Story
Meet Harold Male DOB: June 14, 2023 Weight: 26 pounds (medium small) Breed: Parson Russell Terrier Mix Neutered (Fixed) Vaccines: Up to Date Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Harold is a friendly, happy-go-lucky dog with a loving personality and a heart full of affection. At 3 years old, he has the perfect balance of maturity and energy, making him an excellent companion for a variety of homes and lifestyles. Harold enjoys spending time with people and has an easygoing nature that helps him make friends wherever he goes. Whether he's joining you on walks, relaxing at home, or simply enjoying time with his family, Harold is happiest when he is included and loved. As a Parson Russell Terrier / American Eskimo Mix, Harold will be an intelligent, playful, and affectionate companion with a lively personality and a deep love for their family. This breed mix often combines the Parson Russell Terrier's confidence, curiosity, and adventurous spirit with the American Eskimo Dog's intelligence, loyalty, and eagerness to please. The result is a bright, engaging dog that enjoys both learning and spending time with the people they love. These dogs thrive on companionship and enjoy being involved in everyday family life. They are quick learners who respond exceptionally well to positive reinforcement training and benefit from activities that challenge both their mind and body. Daily walks, interactive play, puzzle toys, and training sessions help keep them happy, confident, and well-balanced. A Parson Russell Terrier / American Eskimo Mix would thrive in a home prepared for: Daily exercise and active play Continued positive reinforcement training Mental stimulation and enrichment Structure, consistency, and routine Plenty of companionship and family interaction A lifelong commitment to their emotional and physical well-being With patience, consistency, and plenty of love, a Parson Russell Terrier / American Eskimo Mix grows into a loyal, well-mannered, and devoted companion who enjoys both exciting adventures and relaxing with their forever family. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from uncertain beginnings and may not have had structure, socialization, or training before arriving at rescue. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Even friendly and well-adjusted dogs benefit from continued guidance, consistency, and positive reinforcement after adoption. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should expect to continue training and support after adoption. Harold will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily structure and routine Continued socialization and exposure Exercise and mental stimulation Patience, consistency, and supervision Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, guidance, and commitment, rescue dogs like Harold blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes training, daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, financial responsibility, and emotional commitment throughout every stage of life. Harold will need: Daily walks, exercise, and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine veterinary care and wellness exams Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Proper nutrition and weight management Mental stimulation and enrichment A safe, stable, indoor living environment Consistent veterinary care, emotional stability, proper nutrition, and daily companionship are all essential to helping Harold thrive in his future home. Harold is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. Story
Wilbur is the heartwarming rescue story we LIVE for! ❤️ When he first arrived in rescue, Wilbur was frozen with fear. He didn’t trust that humans were safe, recoiled from touch, and lived in a constant state of panic. We’ll never know exactly what happened before he was rescued, but it’s clear he hadn’t experienced the love, consistency, and security every puppy deserves. But with patience, routine, and the guidance of his foster family and canine friends, Wilbur began to realize he was finally safe. Day by day, his confidence grew, and the puppy hiding underneath began to shine. Today, after two months in rescue, Wilbur is joyful, goofy, endlessly affectionate, and always ready for his next adventure. He proudly carries squeaky toys around the house, loves a good game of fetch, splashing in water, and drinking from the garden hose. When playtime is over, he melts into his foster family for snuggles. He has an incredible zest for life that makes everyone around him smile. He’s happiest when he’s close to his people, following his foster mom from room to room and convincing everyone that now is, in fact, the perfect time for a belly rub. He romps around the yard with the resident dogs and has proven that, despite his rough start, he truly wants to love and be loved. Now that he’s had a taste of what a happy life feels like, he can’t get enough. In his forever home, Wilbur is looking for a family who will continue providing the structure, patience, and training that have helped him flourish. Like any young puppy, he’s still learning, but he’s incredibly smart and eager to please. While there’s potential he may always be a little more thoughtful and shy about new experiences than some dogs, we know he is the loyal, steadfast companion who has unlimited love to give and the kind of goofy personality that brings laughter every single day. A few things to know about Wilbur: * He is crate trained and truly loves having a safe, cozy space of his own to decompress. His crate is his happy place, and having that safe space is an important part of helping him regulate. * He’s learning manners around cats and has been doing wonderfully with positive reinforcement and redirection. He can safely coexist with cats but will still need supervision while he continues practicing appropriate boundaries. * Leashes are still a little scary, but he’s making progress every day. * He loves people and does wonderfully with the dogs in his foster home. * He needs his own feeding space because of lingering insecurities around food from his early months. Outside of mealtime, he happily shares toys, snuggles, chews, and even takes treats politely alongside other dogs. * House training is still a work in progress. Wilbur does best on a consistent schedule and appreciates having a puppy pad available for those rare moments when he realizes he needs to go right now! Watching Wilbur transform has been one of the greatest joys of fostering. The scared puppy who once hid from the world has become a happy, resilient boy who greets each day with excitement and unconditional love. His past may always be part of his story, but it no longer defines him. Now all that’s missing is a family to love him for the rest of his life. ❤️
