Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Prepare to be charmed by Chardonnay, a pint-sized wonder with striking blue eyes and a heart full of love! This adorable mini-maven is a master of maneuverability, famously able to  squeeze under baby gates  – a skill that constantly amazes her foster parents! Chardonnay is seeking a patient and understanding family who will give her the time she needs to comfortably adjust to her new home. She's a good girl who settles into her kennel each night for sleep and during the day while her fosters are at work. Potty training is a breeze with this smart cookie – she goes right away when let out and after every meal. Her day wouldn't be complete without a special chew toy or bone when her fosters return, providing hours of delightful play until bedtime. Once Chardonnay feels safe and loved, she promises to be your devoted companion, sticking to you "like glue!" She absolutely adores chewing on bones, chasing tennis balls, and making all her squeaky toys sing! Her playful spirit shines when she "play bows" and zips around with her canine friends. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a tiny gal with a big personality and those captivating blue eyes, Chardonnay might just be the perfect addition to your family! Chardonnay  is from a local impound. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This beautiful girl is Sangria. She came with 12 other Pomimos (American Eskimo/Pomeranian mixes), 2 adults, and 10 puppies. They all took their freedom rides from a local impound and joined Ruff Start Rescue!   This mom and the others came from a tough past where breeding spiraled out of control. The puppies had been nursing from two moms, Sangria and Chardonnay, and no one knew exactly who belonged with whom. To keep everyone safe and together, a foster welcomed both mamas and all the pups, so no one was left behind.    Sangria is a high-energy little gal who loves attention and being as close to you as possible. She is currently not a fan of being left a lot and will anxiously chew on items if not provided with chew toys. She is working on her stranger danger but loves to use her voice to let you know she sees you.   Sangria does great on her harness and leash. She has some hops and will jump up into my arms when she can. She is a nervous chewer but with a toy, or human she stays busy. Sangria is a very slow eater and would prefer pets over food anyday.   Sangria is looking for a home where she can get lots of attention and a family willing to help her find some confidence.  Sangria is from a local impound. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Kittee! Don't let her stunning Akita looks fool you, Kittee isn't your typical aloof Akita – she's an extra-friendly sweetheart! This magnificent girl is a strong, powerful breed, and while she'd never use her strength against you, she thrives with an understanding owner who can provide confident direction. She's got an independent, stubborn streak, but it's all part of her charm! At heart, Kittee is still a playful puppy. Her favorite game? Fetch with herself! You'll often find her joyfully tossing her toys around. When it's time for bed, Kittee is a clean kennel keeper, though she might put on the breaks a little when first going in. She absolutely adores outdoor adventures, whether it's exploring with you or enjoying some independent sniff time. Kittee is a cuddly girl, especially after a good romp. She treats everyone like her best friend, greeting them with an open heart. Her bouncy playstyle is contagious, especially when she’s chasing tennis balls and rope toys – just don’t expect a perfect retrieve every time! If you're ready for a strong, loving, and slightly goofy companion, Kittee is eager to meet her forever family! Kittee will need to be the only dog in the home or adopted into a home with a submissive, neutered male dog.   Kittee came into rescue with swelling in her leg, and after veterinary evaluation and cytology, she’s been diagnosed with a sarcoma with high suspicion of osteosarcoma. Because of this diagnosis, Kittee will be available as a hospice adoption. Our goal with hospice adoptions is to give animals like Kittee the chance to live in loving family homes, surrounded by care and comfort, for however much time they have left rather than staying in rescue. For full transparency: there is no true cure for osteosarcoma. The typical recommendation is amputation of the affected leg with radiation or chemotherapy. Without treatment, average life expectancy is 4–6 months; with treatment it may be extended up to two years. Because Kittee is a young, large dog, we’ve decided not to put her through the pain and recovery of amputation, but instead focus on her comfort and quality of life. She is currently on pain medication to help keep her comfortable and mobile, and we’ll continue to monitor her needs closely.   Kittee is from a local impound.
