Story
I found Winter in 2021during the winter storm in DFW hence the name! I wasn’t looking to adopt at the time but when I saw her at a petsmart she stole my heart. I took her home that day and since then we’ve had countless adventures together. She’s very sensitive to human emotion. It may seem crazy but I’m convinced she can tell when I’m sad, frustrated, etc. She will come to you and keep you company. My life has become too busy to give her the attention she deserves. I would like to find someone preferably with kids but I’m not set on that. She loves kids and is very playful with them. She is old - when I got her they told me she was around 4 to 5 years old. I’ve had her for 5 so that would put her at around 9 to 10 years old. However she still has ALOT of energy! For a husky/malamute she is very chill around the house. Sleeps a lot but when it’s time to play watch out! You’ll get tired first for sure. She loves being outside but prefers inside.

Hunter is a senior gentleman with a calm, gentle personality and a soft spot for belly rubs. He walks nicely on leash, knows how to sit, and takes treats gently. During his time with volunteers, Hunter has enjoyed sniffing around the play yard, doing silly little zoomies, and sitting close for pets. He often rolls onto his back to ask for belly rubs and has a sweet, wiggly demeanor once he warms up. Hunter can be a little shy about touch at first and may prefer to take things at his own pace, but he has shown a friendly and affectionate side with the people he trusts. He has also spent time around other dogs and may be vocal or offer corrections during greetings, so thoughtful introductions are important. If you’re looking for a sweet senior companion with plenty of personality, come meet Hunter! Due to capacity at the shelter, this pet is currently at risk for euthanasia. We are urgently seeking placement through adoption, foster, or approved rescue. Hi, I'm Luk! I'm a a 55 lb beautiful good girl who is the perfect mix of playful and calm — I love a good walk and exploring all the outdoor smells (squirrels and bunnies get me *very* excited, though I promise it's all in good fun). But I'm just as happy curled up quietly beside you while you read, work, or relax. **A little about me:** - I'm smart and love a good challenge — puzzle toys, training games, bring it on - Treats are my love language, and I could get belly rubs forever - I'm not a fan of the heat — after a walk, I'm ready for A/C and a cool floor over cozy carpet any day - I'm house trained - I'm still working on being left alone, but I've made huge progress and I know I'll settle in once I have a consistent home **With others:** I seem to love other dogs and people — I get excited to say hi when we pass dogs on our walks! I haven't met a cat yet, so we'll see. I really miss having a buddy around, so I think I'd do best with another animal companion to keep me secure, entertained, and less anxious. **My ideal home:** I'd love a family with a yard, plenty of people around to love on me, and maybe a furry sibling for company. I do best with minimal time home alone — someone who works from home or has a flexible schedule would be perfect. With consistent exercise and mental stimulation, I know I'll thrive.
