Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.18-month-old Barkley is an energetic boy who is very hesitant at first when meeting other dogs and people, and then is full-on happy!  He's of smallish size and loves attention and to be close.  Barkley is crate trained, and, in fact, supposedly spent much of his puppyhood in a crate, which might account for some of his shyness. He is loving his newfound freedom in his foster home. Barkley is not housebroken yet, so he will require a home willing to train him and that will allow him lots of freedom and gentle exposure to new things. Barkley seems to derive confidence from the presence of another dog, so a home with a confident doggie buddy is preferred, but not required. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 8, 2026, 5:25 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Basset boy at Underdog Rescue in Benicia, CAClyde is NOT a GGBR dog. He is listed here as a courtesy for Underdog Rescue in Benicia, CA. For more information, or to meet, or adopt Clyde, please contact Underdog Rescue via the link, below.https://www.petfinder.com/dog/clyde-cb678d31-93a8-4b8d-b2b0-8b650990c328/ca/benicia/underdog-animal-rescue-ca2285/details/Clyde is a long, low, and delightfully saggy 2-year-old Basset Hound with a handsome tri-color coat, soulful droopy eyes, and a face you’ll never forget. Simply put — he’s a total hunk and an all-around good boy.Clyde has the best Basset personality: easy-going, super friendly, and a true social butterfly. He currently weighs about 33 pounds and should be closer to 40–45 lbs, so he’s happily working on gaining some healthy weight. He lives successfully with other dogs and kids and does wonderfully in a family environment. This sweet boy loves to cuddle, spoon, and soak up affection, but he also enjoys frolicking in the yard and exploring the world at his own pace. Clyde is a sensitive, gentle soul who bonds deeply with his people and thrives on kindness and consistency.Clyde came to us from a sad situation where he wasn’t properly cared for and was likely used for breeding. Despite that rough start, he’s shown nothing but resilience and love. He appears purebred, is doing great with house training and crate training, and is truly Basset Hound through and through.Because he’s true to the breed, Clyde is looking for an active home with a yard (no apartments) and people who understand and appreciate the needs of a Basset — daily engagement, structure, and plenty of love.If you’ve been dreaming of a loyal, affectionate, low-rider companion who will steal your couch and your heart, Clyde is ready to be your forever hound.First Step Is To Apply Now[Apply Now](http://form.jotform.com/underdogca/dog-adoption-application)For application updates, forwarding requests, or any questions, contact us at adopt@underdogca.com.
