Story
Meet Burger! Burger is an adorable 4-year-old male, who is eagerly searching for his home. This lovable guy is bursting with playfulness, making every day an adventure in his eyes. Burger is sure to bring a smile to your face and fill your home with joy. Burger thrives on interaction and loves to engage in activities with his human friends. He would be the perfect companion for an active person who enjoys spending time outdoors. While Burger is generally a social butterfly, he can be a bit timid and cautious in new situations. Patience and gentle encouragement will go a long way in helping him build up his confidence. Food is one of Burger's biggest motivators, which makes him the perfect pup for training. With positive reinforcement and a handful of treats, Burger is ready to learn all sorts of tricks and commands! In addition to his playful nature, Burger has a cozy side. He enjoys taking leisurely naps, right by your side! Burger would thrive in a home where someone has a flexible schedule and ample time to spend with him. An owner who can provide companionship and lots of love will be rewarded with a loyal and devoted furry friend. Quick Stats! -- Dogs: Does well with other dogs, with slow and appropriate introductions. -- Cats: Does not currently live with cats. Will require training if joining a home with a cat. -- Children: Does well with kids but do best in a home where he is the primary focus.

Story
Pal's Place would love to introduce you to Obie, an extraordinary, resilient, friendly, and happy dog looking for a family as remarkable as he is. Lovable Obie is estimated to be around 7 years of age, weighs in around 30 pounds, and appears to be a Beagle/Terrier mix. At the beginning of the year (January 2nd), this precious fella's entire world turned upside down, and his recovery has been remarkable and inspiring. Obie was hit by a car and suffered catastrophic injuries to both of his eyes. His eyes were damaged beyond repair, and his only option for a comfortable, pain-free life was the complete removal of both eyes. At seven years of age, Obie suddenly found himself having to learn a new way of navigating and interacting with the world around him. When an older dog becomes disabled in any way, especially very suddenly, there is always a concern they may never fully adjust or lose much of their quality of life. Well, it did not take long for us to see that Obie was not going to let his new disability define him or even slow him down much at all! He has adapted remarkably well, and despite the trauma, his chipper, sunny, and friendly disposition remains intact. He learned the layout of his foster home in less than two days and mastered the stairs in the home within a week. He just needs a little patience and encouragement when introduced to new environments, but he's very inquisitive and always eager to learn and explore. Once he is familiar with an environment, you'd never know he was blind! He loves to wrestle and play with his canine foster siblings, play with toys, go for walks, and can navigate familiar stairs independently. There is not much a sighted dog can do that a blind dog cannot! Obie loves meeting new people and pups and is a social butterfly. In Obie's world, everyone is greeted as a long-lost friend! Anyone lucky enough to cross paths with Obie can expect a bright, enthusiastic smile, plentiful tail wags, and a generous number of licks and kisses. He is a professional cuddler who thrives on human affection and attention. Obie is a joy to be around, and his zest for life and cheerful personality are contagious. Like many Terriers, he can be vocal at times, is a bit stubborn, demanding at times, and forever trying to outsmart his humans. Guardians with a sense of humor and those who know, love, and appreciate the Terrier grit will be the best match for him! He will be an outstanding, loyal companion for one lucky family. • Obie is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and heartworm tested. His adoption fee to the rescue is $375. Obie is being fostered in Chicago and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been received and approved. For more info or an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. Adoption applications and correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are waiting for our reply, please check those folders regularly, and if it has been 48 hours without a reply, please follow up with an email to ensure your application was received. • Obie's adoption fee is $375. This fee helps to cover any necessary medical care to prepare him for adoption. Pal's Place relies solely on adoption fees and donations to care for the animals in our rescue. Your donation also helps save other dogs like Obie from euthanasia. • Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application and put the dog's name in the subject line. Please check your spam/junk folder; sometimes, the applications end up there! We are a volunteer-run organization and do our best to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours. • All of our dogs are in foster homes and can be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an approved application has been received. Story
Bart is a happy, friendly, loving, lovable, and playful, two-year-old, 26-pound male tri-color Beagle looking for a loving guardian. Bart gets along with other dogs and people. He loves car rides, toys and balls, going for walks, and snuggling. He’s looking for a person or family that has time to continue his training and give him the love and exercise he craves. He is housebroken and knows how to sit on command. Bart bays like some hounds do, so apartments and condos with thin walls are out for this pup! He’s also an escape artist, so he either needs to be walked three times a day, or fences need to be examined for any possible holes. He is very healthy, neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative. His adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Petraits Rescue. To meet and possibly adopt Bart, fill out the application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/dog-adoption-application/ Once you’ve completed the application, follow up at friendsofpetraits@gmail.com to meet him. He is being fostered in Chicago.
