Story
Benny is a very sweet, and friendly boy. He enjoys meeting people, happy to be involved in anything you do. The kitchen is especially enjoyable when preparing meals, always optimistic a little snack might be shared. This boy is food motivated! He is always up for a little training session when the treats come out. He can sit/lie down. He has been very good on his house manners, letting us know if he has to go out. Benny has been introduced to cats, horses and chickens without much excitement. He has had another canine family member in his previous home, as well as making dog friends in his foster home. Benny would love to find a family where he can be included in activities, even if it's snuggle time while watching a movie. This boy is kind, and wants to be loved, and share his love in return. He is looking forward to someone making 2026 his happy new year!
Adoption Process:

- One of our team members will get back to you via phone.
- Our dogs can be seen by appointment only. We do not have a facility at this time. Dogs are in foster homes or boarding
- Adoption fee helps to cover transport costs, spay/neuter, initial vaccines, rabies, fecal, initial worming, and microchip.
-We do not place holds on our dogs. Please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt. NOTE: We are very good about updating the pet's profiles once adopted. So no need to write us to ask "Is he/she still available?" If the post is up, the dog is still available.
About Us: Day of the Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit. Since 2015 we have been dedicated to helping shelters increase live release. We coordinate 2 - 4 transports per month from TX, OK and AR to NW Indiana/Chicagoland and the Kansas City area. We do direct adoptions ourselves out of Kansas City and NW Indiana areas. We also partner with other rescues and shelters in IN, IL, KS and MO that are willing to help southern pets in need. We rely on donations to help fund our ongoing transports.
