🐾 Meet Bear 🐾 Bear is a 5-year-old Schipperke mix with a gentle heart who is learning that life can be safe, comfortable, and full of love. Bear came from a home that wasn’t always kind to him, so it’s no surprise that he takes a little time to trust. He’s especially cautious around men and would do best in an adult-only home with patient people who will let him move at his own pace. But once Bear decides you’re one of his people, you’ll discover an incredibly sweet, loyal companion who loves cuddles and being close to his humans. Since coming into foster care, Bear has been making wonderful progress. He recently attended an event and did a great job meeting new people, showing just how far he’s come. Every day, he’s learning how to be a carefree dog again. ✨ What we know about Bear: • Potty trained • Sleeps through the night • Free roams when left alone and is nondestructive • Dog friendly • Cat tolerant (he mostly ignores them) • Knows “sit” and “shake” • Enjoys walks, car rides, and playing with other dogs • Loves cuddling on the couch with his people Bear can still be a little anxious in new situations and is hesitant around men or large groups of people, but he continues to gain confidence with gentle guidance and patience. He walks nicely past other dogs and has been a wonderful house guest in foster care. Bear isn’t looking for perfection—just someone willing to let him trust at his own pace. In return, he’ll give you a lifetime of loyalty, companionship, and quiet love. His perfect person is out there.
