This curly-coated cutie is looking for a foster-to-adopt home where he can truly shine. Toby is house trained, affectionate, and loves being close to his people. He enjoys playing catch, going on daily walks, and keeping himself entertained with his favorite toys. He would do best as the only dog in the home, where he can soak up all the attention and feel secure. While Toby doesn’t chew or destroy things when left alone, he does experience some separation anxiety and will need a patient, understanding family willing to help him build confidence. He simply misses his humans when they leave — but with the right support and routine, he will continue to improve. Toby is ready to bond deeply with someone who wants a playful, loyal, and loving companion by their side. Their time was running out, but Big Dog Ranch Rescue stepped in to give them a second chance. Since arriving at the Ranch, Ava and Zeus have received all the medical care, love, and affection they need. They are learning everything they need to grow into happy, loving pups and are now ready to begin the next chapter of their lives — finding forever families who will cherish them and give them the homes they deserve.

I came to Big Dog Ranch as a breeder release after spending my whole life in heartbreaking conditions, used over and over for puppies and rarely touched with kindness. I don’t know what it feels like to be part of a family, and I’ve never even had a leash clipped onto me. The world outside my cage is completely new and sometimes scary. It may take me months to understand that hands can be gentle and homes can be safe, but deep down I’m hoping someone will give me the patience and love I’ve never had. With the right person, I know I can finally learn what it means to be more than a number… to be loved.
