Henry 5 Years Old • 62 lbs • Poodle / Schnauzer Mix (Best Guess) Henry is a big, scruffy sweetheart who came into rescue after the loss of his owner. With such a major life change, Henry may still be grieving, but beneath that adjustment period is a loyal, affectionate dog who truly wants a person of his own. Henry is very high energy and thrives with plenty of physical and mental outlets. He loves playing ball and would be a great match for an active adopter who enjoys daily play and engagement. He forms strong bonds and wants to be wherever his human is, making him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a devoted “shadow dog.” In a home with another dog, Henry would do best with a female companion. He has a confident, sometimes dominant personality, but he is not aggressive. He currently defers to a strong alpha dog and has had only minor disagreements—nothing serious—but he will benefit from clear structure and guidance. Henry has been marking indoors, but he was just recently neutered, and we’re hopeful this behavior will improve as his hormones settle. Continued training, consistency, and patience will be key as he adjusts and learns new routines. Henry will need a specific kind of home—one that understands transitional behaviors, provides structure and exercise, and gives him time to decompress. With the right match, Henry has all the potential to become a deeply loyal, fun-loving companion. Henry's breed mix is a best guess based on appearance; the exact breed makeup is unknown. All of our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines. Adoption fee for all dogs/pups: $225. Our dogs are in foster homes across the KC metro.
