Meet Happy! If you’re looking for a best friend who lives up to her name, look no further than Happy! This handsome, scruffy, 3 year old girl has a heart as big as her smile and is always ready to brighten your day. Happy is a friendly, affectionate, 58 pound Schnoodle who loves being around people and soaking up attention. Whether she’s joining you for a walk, exploring the outdoors, or simply leaning in for pets, Happy is happiest when she’s with her favorite humans. Her goofy grin and wagging tail make it impossible not to fall in love. This lovable girl has a playful spirit but also enjoys relaxing by your side after a day of fun. With her charming scruffy looks and sweet personality, Happy turns heads everywhere she goes….and did we mention she’s HAPPY!Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog.We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org)Thanks so much.

Story
This scruffy girl is Dora. She is a 3-year-old schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle mix) and weighs 42 lb. Dora is a very gentle and sweet dog. She is calm and polite and just an overall loving, easygoing dog. She likes going on walks but probably doesn't need a lot of exercise to be content. Dora likes chin scratches and is happy to wait for whatever attention you want to give her. Dora is good with other dogs and should be fine with children of all ages. We don't know what Dora thinks of cats but can cat-test her if needed. If you want a chill dog to be your companion, come meet Dora! She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and healthy. Her adoption fee is $440. If you would like to meet/adopt Dora, please complete our online application at https://daws.org/daws-online-adoption-application/ or stop by our shelter. We are open 10 AM to 4 PM seven days a week. The DAWS shelter address is 147 Grassy Plain St. Bethel. Email daws@daws.org with questions or if you wish to schedule an after-hours appointment. Dora can't wait to meet you!

Story
Ralphy is a sweet and spunky Schnoodle terrier mix (that’s our best guess!) who’s about 1–2 years old and weighs around 20 lbs. This adorable boy has plenty of pep in his step and a happy-go-lucky personality that’s sure to make you smile. Ralphy loves to play with other dogs and would enjoy a canine buddy who can match his playful energy. He’s also good with cats—as long as they don’t dash away, because then he thinks it’s playtime! Ralphy is doing great with his housebreaking when kept on a schedule and is very smart and eager to please, responding well to gentle correction. He walks nicely on leash and has that fun, puppy-like enthusiasm for life. Ralphy would thrive in a home with kids over 15 or an adult-only household, where he can get the attention and structure he loves. Ralphy does have mild stranger danger—he tends to bond closely with women and can be a little wary of unfamiliar men at first, sometimes barking until he feels comfortable. With a little patience and reassurance, he quickly learns that new friends are safe and kind. When left alone, Ralphy is quiet and content, but he’d be happiest with a fenced-in yard where he can run, explore, and get his zoomies out. If you’re looking for a bright, affectionate companion who’s full of love and personality, Ralphy might just be your perfect match! ❤️
