Story
Roo Roo is the most adorable pup you've ever seen!!! She's short on size, but BIG on personality.  We just love her.   Her ideal family is active and able to match her wits; she'd love another doggy friend to play with, but not a deal breaker.  She would love a backyard to run around in and chase squirrels.   Here's how to meet Roo Roo: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. APPLY HERE: www.richardsonhumanesociety.org ##2294297##

Story
Local adoption only!  Adoption donation $500 to cover medical expenses. Finley is 5 years old and ready for his new home.  His past life had issues with other dogs being aggressive towards him.  As such, he can be a bit standoffish.  But that doesn't stop him from wanting love, attention and belly rubs!  Finley is allergic to chicken, which causes skin inflammation..  Even small amounts of chicken fat that are present in some dog treats, chewable medications or even pill pockets can be a trigger.  We have resolved these issues by feeding a high-quality beef or salmon diet and we use Grain Free Peanut Butter treats. All dogs adopted by Scottie Kingdom Rescue, Inc. have had a full medical exam by one of our licensed Veterinarians, which includes testing (and treatment, if necessary) for Heartworm disease, Lyme disease, Ehrlichia and Anaplasmosis, all necessary vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, dental cleaning as necessary, microchipping, registration of the microchip, and any other medical needs each particular dog may need. Copies of all available medical records are transferred to you when the adoption is finalized. We prefer to adopt to families with past Scottie, Westie, Terrier experience, but realize this isn’t always possible.   We do NOT ship our pets. If you have that special place in your heart, and in your home, for a Scottie (or any of our other available rescue dogs), please visit us in Dallas for an in person meet & greet session with our available dogs.   If you have existing dogs, they should travel to Dallas with you, so we can be assured that they will be compatible with the new addition to your family. Please contact us at Rescue@scottiekingdom.com   to receive an Adoption Application or for more information on our Adoption process.  Also, please take the time to visit our website www.scottiekingdom.com for additional information. We sometimes receive several applications on the same dog. Our goal is to place the dog in the best home possible, based on his/her needs, personality and past history. Please note:  Adoptions are not done on a first come, first served basis.  Submitting an application does not guarantee the adoption of any dog.   We are looking for the best available home for each of our rescue dogs. Thank you for your understanding, and for considering adoption! We are not supported by your tax dollars or public grants, rather, we rely on donations to help us continue our rescue work for animals that are in need. Donations may be made via PayPal to email address: Donate@scottiekingdom.com or via USPS, to PO Box 551265 ~ Dallas, TX   75355 February 8, 2025, 2:44 pm

Story
Local adoption only!  Adoption donation $500.00 to cover medical expenses. This handsome boy is Cailean, who is 2 years of age and is looking for a new home.  He is a very active Scottie boy due to his age.  We are wanting to find him a home in the DFW area that has experience with the breed.  Cailean is a larger Scott that is quite strong and muscular.  He could knock over a small child or cause issues with seniors.  He is decidedly an Alpha dog which needs to be taken into consideration if you have other Scotties.  He loves playing fetch in the yard, but it's a game to get the toy back from him! Cailean requires a high-quality diet to help prevent skin issues. Story
We adopted Stella in 2019 from an animal shelter two cities away. Although she’s around 13 years old now, her personality is that of a puppy. Stella loves to run around and gets very jumpy when she sees someone she likes. She will follow you around the whole home and can be very loyal to one person. She likes to sleep for most of the day, but as soon as you call her name she will frantically scramble towards you haha. Stella is super friendly towards adults and children. However, she doesn’t seem to mind other dogs. I’m looking for a home with someone who can give her all the TLC she deserves. Microchipped and spayed.
