Yuki’s story begins in a place no cat should ever know. She came from a backyard breeding situation where dozens of cats were kept without proper care, love, or dignity. When St. Johns County Animal Control stepped in, Yuki and so many others were finally given a chance at a different life — a life where they could be safe, seen, and cherished. Small Lives Matter Kitten Rescue welcomed her and several others into care, where their healing journey could begin. When Yuki arrived, she was tired. Her once-soft coat was dull, her body burdened with fleas and ear mites, and her eyes hinted at the discomfort she had endured. Like many of the rescued cats, she needed medical attention, patience, and compassion. And despite everything she had been through… she chose love. Yuki is a beautiful mix of Scottish Fold and Russian Blue female born in March of 2020, with the most soulful eyes and a quiet, gentle presence. She may still look a little “shabby” right now as she recovers, but underneath it all is a truly stunning cat who is now blossoming into a very social kitty. She knows her friends are here - Miso, Vesper and Kito. She has been going to their condos and talking to them and they recognized her too! They are rubbing up one another. This is amazing to watch! She adores attention — the kind she likely went without for far too long. Soft pets, kind voices, and simply being near her people mean everything to her. Yuki is sweet, affectionate, and deeply deserving of a home where she will never again be overlooked. This is more than an adoption. It’s a chance to change the ending of her story. Lucy is a 12-year-old Domestic Medium Hair mix who is all about comfort, kindness, and quiet companionship. This sweet senior spends her days relaxing in an office with our executive director, happily soaking up affection and making biscuits for anyone who stops by to visit. Lucy is blind, but it doesn’t slow her down when it comes to sharing love—she’s truly one of the most affectionate and gentle cats you’ll ever meet.She’s spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations, and thanks to the generosity of a volunteer, Lucy’s adoption fee has been fully covered.
