You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Peanut was an owner surrender to the Mower County Humane Society on 3/29/22.  She was surrendered because of her extreme shyness to people.  She was living in a home with other cats and she did fine with them.  Peanut was adopted once from MCHS and brought back because of litter box issues.  We have not seen those issues here.  In late Nov, 2025, Peanut was placed in a foster home where we hope she will be happier and learn that all is not bad in a home.  She has responded very well in foster and is enjoying herself!   Peanut has tested neg for feline leukemia/FIV, is spayed and is current on shots.  She will be adopted as a strictly indoor only cat.  We are looking for a home with patience, persistence and lots of love--preferably someone who has owned a shy cat and who has an easy-going, calm life. Peanut will require time.  Here at MCHS she likes to be scratched and pet but she is very unsure about us too--we are all giving her extra attention!
