Story
Are you looking for a lover boy? I’m George, a handsome, medium-haired boy who came to Paws and Claws from a rescue partner. I’m friendly and love being petted. I’m playful, but my behavior can be unpredictable. It would be best if my adopter is cat-savvy and the home has older children or adults only. “Always be yourself, unless you can be a dragon, then be a dragon.”- “Tease Me”. Once I no longer have to live in a kennel and have settled into a home of my own, without so many other cats around, it is hoped that I will calm down. Then the only fire this dragon will breathe will be the sparks of love. Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
“Consider yourself at home. Consider yourself one of the family…” (Sung by the Artful Dodger in “Oliver”). I’d love to be part of a family, hopefully along with my friend Cleo – Cleocatra. We came to Paws and Claws with four other cats. There were 21 of us in our home originally, and a woman brought us to her home because there were too many of us crowded into our residence. She cared for us while searching for homes and rescue places that could take us in. What a wonderful lady! She found places for us all, and now we need permanent homes. I am a handsome medium-haired boy who is shy in new places. Once I warm up, however, I become a “Velcro cat,” seeking out people and other cats alike. My friend Cleocatra and I are BFFs, and we would love to be adopted together, please. We play together and hang out together. I do try to be friends with all cats, and I do well with dogs, too. I can be quite vocal, and I am picky about food and treats. I have some quirks: I put food in the water bowl. I lie down in the litter box as if it’s a bed. If I get overstimulated, I may nip, but not in an aggressive way, just a reminder, while being petted, so maybe best in a home with older children only. I’m a lovable fellow, and I know you’ll be hooked on Oliver!Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
Will purr for food. Does that make me a hobo? I was showing up at the home of a Paws and Claws volunteer every now and then in late summer. After a few weeks I was brave enough to let her pet me. You know what happens, right? Summer turns to fall and fall turns to winter. Brrr! The woman picked me up and moved me onto her front porch. It’s not heated, but she had heated mats and a heated water bowl. It was a lot better than being outdoors! I loved having regular meals! She’ll tell you that I’m not shy about asking for food. I let her pick me up so I could sit with her on the porch. I swished my tail back and forth, purring the whole time. I never crawled up on my own though because I’m a shy guy. It will take a while for me to build trust with someone new. Now that I’m at the shelter, I am meeting a lot of strangers – volunteers and staff they call themselves. I like petting, but I mostly stay in my kennel so far. I’m a handsome young fellow, maybe only about 3 1/2 years old, and I’m really sweet once you get to know me. If you’re patient and kind, I’ll bet we could be friends. Wouldn’t you love to have a mild-mannered cat named Ben?Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax
