Story
Eight year old Boris (longhair), and 7 year old Marcell (shorthair) are two Scottish Fold buddies looking for a new home together.Boris is a genial and relaxed cat who loves playtime. While he's not particularly fussy and isn't aggressive towards people, he can have limited tolerance for being brushed. He's braver than Marcell and likes exploring and sitting/lying in the sun. He's not as much of a lap-cat as Marcell, but he loves the company of people and likes being pet. He has no issues with people, but he and Marcell (Boris in particular) have a habit of bullying other cats together, so they should not be homed with other cats. Boris LOVES to play and loves to chase toys.Marcell can be a little shy and skittish at first, but once he gets used to you he's a hog for attention. He loves being brushed and often demands pets from people he's comfortable with, and he's also fond of climbing into laps. Despite his short legs, he's able to jump onto couches and low tables with little issue. While he enjoys playing with wand toys, he's not as adventurous as Boris and generally prefers to stick to people/Boris.Their owner is no longer able to care for them, and a friend is helping them find the Scots a new home. Story
Elara is a 1.5 year old sweetheart who was rescued from a hoarder breeder of Scottish Fold and Straight cats. Despite her early beginnings- being used to breed cats for profit- Elara is a sweet soul who would bring love to any home. She takes a few days to come out of her shell and will then follow you around looking for attention and treats.  In her foster home, Elara learned to trust, rest, and just be a cat! Elara discovered her love for chasing bubbles and playing with a variety of toys. Elara is looking for a forever home where she will be pampered, cared for, and treated as the queen she is. Elara MUST go to a home with another cat, you can adopt a friend alongside her if you don't already have a young cat for her to befriend at home.  Elara is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, negative for FIV and FeLV, and treated for parasites.  As a speciality breed (Scottish Straight), her adoption fee will be $300.  If you’re interested in meeting Elara, fill out an application at www.brooklynanimalaction.org/adoption-forms and designate Dana H as the rescuer. Story
Hi, I’m Sawyer! I`m Sawyer, a 1-year-old Scottish Fold, which means I have somehow found myself in the unusual position of being a fancy little exotic-looking cat...AVAILABLE AT A SHELTER.Perhaps you`ve always dreamed of adopting a Scottish Fold.Perhaps you`ve admired our ridiculous little folded ears from afar.Perhaps you`ve thought:`I`d love one, but I really want to adopt rather than shop.`Well...THIS IS AWKWARDLY CONVENIENT. ??I came here after my previous owner found herself caring for more cats than she could properly manage. I was loved very much, but now it`s time for me to find a new family of my own.And personality-wise?I`m basically making this as easy as possible.I love people.I love other cats.I love being petted.I EVEN LOVE BEING HELD.Pick me up?Sure.Pet me?Obviously.Already have cats?INTRODUCE US.I`m a ridiculously sweet young girl who would love to get out of the shelter and straight back into the house-cat lifestyle.Of course, before anyone gets completely distracted by my adorable folded ears, please remember that Scottish Folds can have breed-specific medical concerns, particularly involving their joints and cartilage. My future family should research the breed and be prepared for the possibility of additional veterinary care during my lifetime.I may be fancy. But I`m still a living, breathing little cat who deserves someone prepared to care for everything that comes with me.So if you`ve always wanted a Scottish Fold and you`re ready for the responsibility...Hi.I`m Sawyer.I`m sweet.I`m affectionate.I`m one year old.And apparently...TODAY IS YOUR LUCKY DAY.Sawyer is spayed, dewormed, microchipped, tested for FIV and FeLV and is up to date with vaccines. Her adoption fee is $650.00. Sawyer will also get one free exam with one of our participating veterinarians within 30 days of her adoption. If you`d like to meet her please visit, we`re conveniently located in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn near the F train (Ft Hamilton Pkwy) and the B16 bus. Sawyer can`t wait to meet you! We`re open daily for adoptions from 11am to 5:30pm.Sean Casey Animal Rescue153 E. 3 St. between Ft Hamilton Pkwy & Caton AveBrooklyn, NY 11218adoptions @nyanimalrescue.orgNYS Departme

Hi, I’m Mira! I`m Mira, a 1-year-old Scottish Fold, and apparently I`m what you humans call a:FANCY CAT.You know the cats people see on the internet and say:`Ohhhh, I`ve always wanted one of those!`Well.HELLO. IT`S ME.And somehow, I`m sitting in a shelter. ??I was surrendered by an owner who loved me very much but unfortunately found herself with more cats than she could properly care for. Sometimes loving an animal means recognizing when you can`t give them everything they deserve, and now I`m here looking for someone who can.Thankfully, I`m making the adoption portion of this situation pretty easy.I`m sweet as pie.I love being petted.I love being held.I love other cats.I love people.Honestly, I`m not entirely sure what else you guys want from me.I HAVE FOLDED EARS AND EVERYTHING.I`m only one year old, so I`ve got my whole life ahead of me, and I`d very much like to spend it being ridiculously spoiled in somebody`s home. There is some important fine print that comes with my fancy little ears. Scottish Folds can be predisposed to medical problems, particularly involving their cartilage and joints. Please research my breed before adopting me and make sure you`re prepared for the possibility that I may need additional veterinary care throughout my life.Being fancy comes with responsibilities, apparently. But if you`ve done your homework and you`ve always dreamed of having one of these unusual little cats...Your fancy cat has arrived.She—WAIT.I am currently accepting applications.Mira is spayed, dewormed, microchipped, tested for FIV and FeLV and is up to date with vaccines. Story
Hi, I’m Hip!I`m Hip, a 2-year-old Scottish Fold, and apparently somebody forgot to tell Scottish Folds that they`re supposed to come in normal cat colors.Because look at me.I`M SNOW WHITE.I`m a gorgeous little guy with all the distinctive charm of a Scottish Fold and, thankfully, a personality every bit as lovely as my appearance.I`m super sweet, affectionate, and friendly with all sorts of people. I`m also great with other animals, so I`m not particularly concerned about what my future family looks like.Other pets?Sure!Lots of people?Wonderful!A quieter home where I get to soak up all the attention myself? Also an excellent proposal.Right now, I`m being treated for an eye infection, so I`ll be heading home with medication that my adopter will need to continue as directed.Potential adopters should also spend some time researching Scottish Folds before deciding I`m the guy for them. The breed can be prone to certain health issues, particularly involving their cartilage and joints, and my future family should understand that I may require a little more veterinary attention during my lifetime than the average cat.But personality-wise?Hip is making this very easy. He`s beautiful. He`s sweet. He loves people. He gets along with other animals. And he`s ready to trade shelter life for the considerably more glamorous position of:Beloved Snow-White House Cat.Hip is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, tested for FIV and FeLV and is up to date with vaccines. His adoption fee is $450. Hip will also get one free exam with one of our participating veterinarians within 30 days of his adoption. If you`d like to meet him please visit, we`re conveniently located in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn near the F train (Ft Hamilton Pkwy) and the B16 bus.Hip can`t wait to meet you! We`re open daily for adoptions from 11am to 5:30pm.Sean Casey Animal Rescue153 E. 3 St. between Ft Hamilton Pkwy & Caton AveBrooklyn, NY 11218adoptions @nyanimalrescue.orgNYS Department of Agriculture and MarketsRegistration No. RR160
