Story
This handsome, orange guy is the other half of the Jimmy/Riff duo. Riff’s backstory is that both he and Jimmy were living outside of a colony in the north of Toronto and had been fed by a caring member of the public for their entire life. Their feeder was leaving Toronto and needed to be retrieved from their colony, as there was no replacement feeder for them to turn to.While Riff is shyer than his colony mate, Jimmy, he has made strides in becoming more social, especially around mealtime. During that time of day when his foster parent is preparing his meal and walking by him, he will give a cute little swat to his foster parent’s leg every time they walk by. Just before he eats and while he is eating, you can easily pet him and give him scratches. He enjoys lying on the blanket on the sofa and having naps. Riff also has a playful side; he likes to chase the other cats in his foster home, as well as play with his crinkle waffle toy. He will also approach you for pets if you sit on the floor to play with him or feed him treats.Riff`s litter box habits are excellent; he is fed twice a day to maintain a healthy weight. He is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. He is also FIV and feline leukemia negative. Additionally, he had a dental cleaning in November 2024.He gets along well with the other cats in his foster home, especially his colony mate Jimmy. His foster parent thinks that once he is in a home with just Jimmy and himself, and maybe another cat, he will come out of his shell more and become an even sweeter cat.

Story
Meet Hazel, a sweet and fluffy long-haired tabby kitten looking for her forever home. A former colony kitten, Hazel is a very vocal little lady with adorable trills and a therapeutic purr.Hazel has typical kitten energy and loves to play, whether it’s chasing around spring toys and feather wands on her own or playing with her older foster sister, Anastasia. Food and treats are her ultimate motivation (who can resist a Churu?), and she’ll happily weave around your legs in the kitchen to let you know that she’d like a taste of whatever you’re eating. She’ll always follow wherever the Churu leads her — a great socialization tool to use while you’re getting to know her. While Hazel isn’t a fan of being picked up, she’s a gentle soul who will warm up to you with time and patience. She can be skittish around new people, but once she feels safe, she’ll show you her sweet and playful side and let you pet her. Hazel doesn’t like people towering over her and prefers when people join her on the floor for playtime. Her peak playtime for zoomies is in the middle of the night and early morning. You’ll hear her trilling up a storm as she plays with her foster sister, Anastasia! The two have formed a lovely bond and enjoy playing together; cuddles may still be on the horizon, but their friendship continues to grow. Hazel has plenty of kitten energy to keep you entertained. She purrs loudly when she’s happy and also self-soothes by purring when she’s stressed (something to keep in mind during vet visits). Hazel is a sweet, playful kitten and while she can be a little unsure around new people at first, with time, patience, and lots of play, she’ll steal your heart in no time.Hazel has grown accustomed to the company of her foster sister, Anastasia, and would be best adopted out to a home together.Like all ACR cats, Hazel is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites.

Story
Licorice is a very sweet and energetic girl. Her favourite pastimes are playing with her favourite toys (those little plastic springs), cuddling up with her fellow furry friends, and trying to steal your food. She loves high places and can often be found at the top of her foster home’s cat tree. She is incredibly playful, always running about with her brother/her foster mom’s household cats at top speeds and will be right at your side the moment you have a snack. She is very loving, preferring head scratches rather than her body being pet- if you do give her body scratches she will grab your hand to lick you! Almost like she’s petting you back to say thank you. She has great litter box habits and eating habits, she is fine to graze feed throughout the day and never overeats. She can be a little shy at first but warms up to those who come around more than once. She loves the company of other cats and can often be found hiding behind her much larger brother and snuggling up with the household cats. It would be best if she was in a home with at least one other cat, she currently lives comfortably with 4 others. Unsure if she is dog or child friendly as she has never been around either. She has a history of minor eye infections/feline herpes flare-ups, she is taking the supplement Enisyl-F and occasional eye drops to combat this.Overall she is so loving and would make the best addition to someone’s household. She must be adopted as a buddy to a friendly resident cat.Like all ACR cats, Licorice is vaccinated and has been treated for fleas and parasites.
