Love is in the air when Selkie is around! Sweet, gentle and quiet, Selkie is like the mystical creature her name suggests, although as far as we know she cannot shape-shift. Selkie was rescued from a multi-cat home, when two cats ended up becoming parents to two litters in about a years’ time. Overwhelmed by the situation, the owner surrendered the eight cats to EHS, knowing that we will be vigilant in our care and helping them find loving homes. ABOUT SELKIE- In foster- Selkie is a very loving cat who is enjoys affection when you approach her and has now begun to seek it out. She loves everyone in the foster household!- She really enjoys being gently picked up and brought over for some affection, settling in for pets and cuddles. Once she is comfortable with you, she will often gently nudge her head into your body, purr, and rest by your side. When she’s had enough, she’ll simply get up and walk away. - Selkie is an easy going, calm cat. When she is out exploring, you may hear her soft and gentle meow, telling you about her discoveries. She’s recently realized how fun it is to play with a wand toy.- She can often be found with her foster-mate, playing or cuddling. - Selkie may not shape-sift, but she may channel her inner dog because when she’s happy she wags her tail like a puppy! - Potential adopters should be aware that the genetic mutation responsible for a Scottish Fold’s distinct ears also puts it at risk for joint and bone disease. Selkie’s forever family will need to monitor her health, weight, and mobility, schedule regular veterinary check-ups, and prepare for future medical costs that will come over time.- Selkie is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.SELLKIE’S IDEAL HOME- Selkie gets along with her fellow foster-mate, and would do well in a home with another gentle cat. - It is unknown how Selkie is with other pets. What Selkie wants most is to find a home where she feels safe, loved, and can be close to the people caring for her. If you think this is you, then reach out to EHS.If you have any questions about Selkie or the adoption process, please contact cats@etobicokehumanesociety.com

Meet Bunny: A Sweet, Unique Girl Looking for Her Perfect HomeBunny is a beautiful 2-year-old black cat with a gentle heart and a charming personality that`s just waiting to shine for the right person. When Bunny first meets new people, she can be shy and a little unsure of herself. Fear sometimes causes her to hiss, but she`s not aggressive, just cautious. With patience, understanding, and a calm environment, she continues to make wonderful progress and grows more confident every day.As the day winds down, Bunny`s playful side begins to emerge. In the evenings, she becomes more adventurous, showing off her goofy personality as she explores, plays, and enjoys her surroundings. Her favorite activities include chasing wand toys and surveying her kingdom from the top of her cat tree. One of Bunny`s most endearing features is her adorable little `blep.` Due to past dental issues, she had her teeth removed, and now she often lets her tongue peek out. It`s impossibly cute and gives her a one-of-a-kind expression that melts hearts wherever she goes.Bunny does have a special preference: she tends to warm up to men more quickly than women. Because of this, we`d love to find her a quiet, stable home where her primary caregiver is a calm, patient man who can give her the time and space she needs to build trust at her own pace.Once Bunny feels safe, you`ll discover a sweet, playful companion with an irresistibly quirky smile and a lot of love to give.Like all ACR cats, Bunny is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites. She has had a full mouth extraction and is FIV and FeLV negative.

Meet Ozzy! The cuddle buddy you’ve been dreaming of.Ozzy is a very sweet boy who would make a great companion for someone who is looking for a couch buddy. He is laid back (when it’s not dinner time) and loves northing more than to sit on the couch beside you and purr while you pet him. He is a chatty boy and loves carrying on a conversation with his people, especially at meal time. He adores his food.He also enjoys his play time. Wand toys are his favourite. His hunting instincts really come out when he gets a toy in his sights. He has great litter box habits and uses a scratching post. He also loves rolling around in catnip in his scratching box (see video)He doesn’t seem bothered by other cats so would likely get along fine with other feline family members. Like all ACR cats, Ozzy is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites. He is also FIV/FeLV negative. He is only monthly medication for his arthritis and has had a dental surgery with multiple extractions. Ozzy would do well on a dental diet.

Our rescue baby Xena may be shy at first, but she warms up to reveal her cuddly and playful nature. While this little warrior princess prefers not to be picked up, she loves to be petted and will let you know with purrs. Xena would thrive in a loving home where she'll be given time to blossom at her own pace. Consider making this sweet girl a part of your family and experience the joy of her companionship.
