Story
Hi, my name is Ivan! I’m available for adoption! Please read the questions and answers below to learn more about me. If I sound like a good fit, come out to Greenhill Humane Society to meet me! ** Here is what a volunteer says about me:`Ivan is such a sweet and cuddly cat! Slick, pure black, nimble, and affectionate. Overall, Ivan is very much a lap cat and loves pets and attention but has firm boundaries.` **Do you like other cats? I’ve lived with other cats in the past, but I didn’t always get along well with them. I’d probably be happiest as the only kitty in the home. What do you think about living with a dog? I can be a little aggressive with dogs and would do best in a dog-free home. How do you feel about kids? I would do best in an adult only home. What was your previous home like? I’ve had a pretty adventurous life. I was most recently found after living as a stray for over six months. What’s your ideal home like? A home where people respect my independence and give me my space. I like being inside, but I’ve spent a lot of my life outdoors. I would probably be happiest having access to the outdoors, ideally a fenced yard because I like feeling safe.Is there anything else we should know about you? Originally adopted from Greenhill as a kitten, I went missing when I was still pretty young. I spent half a year living as a stray before the people feeding me took me in. The new family was nice but had a dog and three other cats, which was a little much for me. I like to challenge other cats. I’m a kitty who knows what he likes and what he doesn’t like and I will make sure you know it too! I’m not much of a lap cat but I like to be near the people I trust and will sleep near your feet all night. I’m pretty picky about my toys but I love chasing after laser pointers and occasionally batting around a crinkly-sounding toy. Catnip is my favorite thing in the world and I can’t get enough of it. It’s been a hard year for me and I would really like a calm, steady home, with lots of catnip, where I can move at my own pace and be as independent as I’ve grown used to being.

I’m available for adoption at Greenhill Humane Society and will be ready to go home once I get spayed/neutered! If you`re interested in adopting me, come out and meet me!Kittens need more attention and socialization during their first 6 months of life and adopters should plan to provide this type of care. We recommend adopting 2 kittens at a time to help with socialization! My adoption fee includes my spay/neuter, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more!
