Ray is a sweet little ray of sunshine who is a go go kid! He came all the way to Wisconsin from the Kuwaiti streets and has been looking for his perfect home since being rescued there. He’s a beautiful Scottish Fold with giant paws and room to grow. He’s as darling as he is active - only pausing for loves and lap time as he explores everywhere around him finding all the nooks and crannies. He’s a great support to his best buddy Nyx who is mobility compromised. They are two peas in a pod. Could you have room for this dynamic duo in your life? Scottish Folds have a genetic mutation which causes their ears to be folded. This same mutation also leads to joint and cartilage problems. As such, this cat has been diagnosed with an arthritic disorder prevalent in Scottish folds called osteochondradysplasia (OCD). To manage pain associated with SFOCD, Ray will eventually need a monthly injection of Solensia at the vet. This is a necessary lifelong treatment and generally costs $80-100 per injection.

Nyx is a very special cat in so many ways. But his one in a million quality is his comfort in hanging out with anybody anywhere. Even though his legs never grew correctly, he is an active go go kitten! He’s managed to figure out how to get around pretty much wherever he wants to go with a modified rebalance gait. He does need a little extra attention when it comes to the hind end and cleanliness. Squatting in the litter box is hard! A quick butt bath and some extra grooming solves that problem though! Then, he can get right back to chilling in your lap and purring like the best of them. His best buddy Ray is never far away. Mocha arrived on 8/27 after waiting 7 long months to travel from Kuwait. She is a saucy gal with the heart of gold. When she arrived we had to take her to the vet to be spayed. During that time it was referred to have her xray'd and checked for OCD. A common genetic disease in Scottish Folds. The same genetic mutation is what causes their folded ears. We took Mocha in for her xrays and confirmed she has mild or moderate osteoarthritis in her limbs. While it is not severe enough to start pain management, we have started joint therapy. She will require regular checkups and eventually pain management as she gets into her senior years. Despite her aches and pains, she is a vibrant little gal that LOVES her wet food diet, resting in center of attention, cuddling with you on the couch and following you around to be apart of whatever you are doing. She needs a quiet home, she will tolerate another cat but prefers to be the queen of her own castle.
