Story
Enid is a tiny, precious 10-year-old Cairn Terrier mix with the biggest heart packed into a little body. She’s currently heartworm positive, which means she’s looking for a foster-to-adopt home while she completes her heartworm treatment (fully supported by the rescue). Once treatment is complete, she’ll be ready to make things official with her forever family. Enid is the definition of a velcro dog. Snuggles aren’t just her favorite- they’re her lifestyle. She wants to be physically close to her people at all times: in your lap, in your arms, or right by your side. “Lap dog” doesn’t even begin to cover it. She thrives on affection, loves being included in daily life, and is perfectly happy tagging along for errands or outings just to be near her humans. She’s incredibly easygoing, sweet, and gentle, and would do best in a home where someone works from home or is around most of the day. Being close to her person brings her comfort and happiness. While Enid doesn’t dislike other dogs, we feel she would be happiest as an only dog, where she doesn’t have to share attention. She’s very people-oriented and wants all the love for herself. She can also be a bit talkative when her people leave, so a home (not an apartment) would be ideal. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will adore you endlessly, Enid is ready to curl up in your heart, and your lap, forever Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Story
Meet Wrigley! Wrigley is a 6-year-old wire-haired terrier mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for people. He came to Furkids after the passing of his owner, and now he’s ready for a new chapter with a family to call his own. Wrigley is house-trained and does a great job letting you know when he needs to go outside. He’s a trustworthy guy who can be left home to safely roam—no destructiveness here. He gets along well with other dogs and has done well with cats, making him a great fit for many types of homes. This sweet boy loves watching the world go by from the window and enjoys exploring the outdoors. He rides nicely in the car and especially enjoys a secure dog seat where he can sit high enough to take in the view. When meeting new people, Wrigley can get excited with some happy barks and jumps—he just loves attention and wants to be everyone’s friend. If you’re looking for a loyal, well-mannered companion who’s ready to soak up love and give it right back, Wrigley may be your perfect match. Wrigley currently weighs about 16lbs., is almost 6 years old (est. birth date 01/23/2020), and her adoption fee is $510. Wrigley has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Wrigley, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.
