Story
Meet Erso! This 40lb girl is all around special and deserves only wonderful things here forward! She is a blue brindle brushcoat who came to us after being used constantly for breeding while her own needs were neglected. She is currently being evaluated by a specialist for some chronic eye issues but we know as of now she is low vision and likely will have long term eye meds. She is good with other dogs and being in a home with other dogs will likely build her confidence. She is shy with new people and experiences so a home where she is given time and patients to heal from her past is a must We are giving her a mommy make over and will be spayed prior to adoption. Story
Carson is an easy going 46 lbs male bear coat. He is currently fostered with 3 other dogs with the smallest one being about 25-30 lbs and loves all of them. He is even starting to play with the little dogs. Carson is shy at first with new people but given some time and patience he becomes a Velcro dog following his people around everywhere. He is working on his kennel skills and getting better every day. While he will go into a kennel he is not a huge fan and has been trust worth loose in the house. He loves to go on walks and shows potential with a little basic training to be a great trail dog. He has been fostered around children 10+ without any issues    Fostering in Lakewood, CO  July 26, 2024, 4:27 pm

Story
Yoda was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start! If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##2124253##

Story
HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED!  Meet Burrow the Shar Pei!  Hello there! My name is Burrow, and I'm a one-year-old Shar Pei with a heart full of love and a knack for Feng Shui! I've been on quite an adventure so far, and now I'm looking for a forever home where I can share all my puppy love. I'm your typical Shar Pei puppy—lazy yet playful. I enjoy running around and having fun with my foster siblings, but I also know the importance of taking relaxing naps in the warm sun. Speaking of Feng Shui, I've got a little talent for it—I like to rearrange shoes to bring love and luck into your home (although I promise, I haven't chewed any!). While I'm still young and learning, I haven't had much formal training yet. I'm currently working on my leash manners and learning basic commands like "sit" (especially when blueberries are involved—I can't resist!). Every day, I'm improving and learning a lot at my foster home. I'm a social butterfly who adores people, and I'm great with potty training and other dogs. I dream of finding a family who will cuddle with me and shower me with kisses—I have plenty of those to give in return! I'm up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. Interested in meeting me, apply today! Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##2101762##

🐾 Meet Bug AKA Cuddle Bug: The Smart and Caring Companion You've Been Waiting For! 🐶 Bug is a special pup with a heart full of love, and she's looking for her forever family to share it with. This adorable girl was one of the Tractor Supply pups, and she's ready to bring joy, intelligence, and cuddles to your life. 🌟 Bug's Remarkable Qualities: Intelligence: Bug is incredibly smart and resourceful. She's known for her ability to find her way to where she wants to go, making it essential for her forever family to be proactive in keeping her safe. Training Superstar: Bug is both potty and crate trained, and she's a quick learner. She'll even use the doggy door on her own, most of the time! Her love for treats has made potty training a breeze. Multilingual Pup: Bug is not just smart but bilingual too! She understands commands in Spanish, adding an extra layer of charm to her personality. Great with Crates: Whether it's overnight or during the day when you're at work, Bug is a model crate occupant. She'll stay comfortable and content. Active and Energetic: Bug thrives on activity! She'd love a family that can take her on long walks or even runs to keep her energy in check. 🏡 Ideal Forever Home: Bug is a unique girl, and her ideal home would be a single pet household with no males. She's extremely active and requires a space to run freely. Older kids are perfect for her, so she won't accidentally knock them over. And don't forget, Bug really needs a doggy door; she hasn't quite learned to "knock" yet. 🎾 Bug's Favorite Pastime: She's a tennis ball fiend! Make sure to get an oversized one because she loves to play, and she's a bit of a heavy chewer. Keep her safe by avoiding toys that can be shredded and eaten. 🌽 Sensitive Tummy: Bug has a sensitive tummy, so providing her with a sensitive tummy food will keep her happy and healthy. 🌸 All About Cuddles: Bug is a true girly-girl, always looking adorable with bows and flowers in her hair. Her favorite pastime is cuddling with her human. If you're looking for a furry friend to snuggle with, Bug is your girl! 🏡 Ready to Adopt Bug?
